NY State rapper Tone Chop & producer Frost Gamble released their album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” on September 29th through Miami label 22 Entertainment.

Featuring Kool G Rap, Planet Asia, rap battler DNA, Canadian upcomer Whito Rhino and Tragedy Khadafi, it’s rammed full of punchline bars, street stories, rugged rhymes and superior beats, with a welcome helping of turntablism thrown into the mix for good measure.

The pair are now returning from a short stay in New York City where they were meeting with press and appeared as guests on DJ Eclipse’s “Rap Is Outta Control Show” and Guerrilla Grooves Radio in The Bronx.

Frost also releases his new collaborative EP with Tragedy Khadafi “Rare Fabric” this Friday, October 20th, and is busy on remix and new music projects with Horseshoe Gang and Royce da 5’9″ while putting the finishing touches to his solo album “I Missed My Bus”.

Scheduled for a 2018 release, it will include guest featured artists Skyzoo, Ras Kass, Conway, Rah Digga, Crooked I, Guilty Simpson, Ruste Juxx and many more.

Two more reviews of the new album “Black Beach” by Detroit rapper ZotheJerk and east coast producer Frost Gamble have just been published, this time from onlines based on either side of the Atlantic.

First up is The Dynamic JAB’s assessment for US online OK-Tho Magazine where he selects several of the album’s tracks for special attention, providing a breakdown of their themes which are often political in nature with a broader social commentary running throughout.

The “Veteran” EP released on November 18th was the first official collaborative project by NY State rapper Tone Chop and Winnipeg based producer Frost Gamble.

This despite the fact the pair were originally rivals in Binghamton’s rap battle scene during the 90’s who would then go on to be partners in rhyme, tagging and remained hip hop allies over the years.

Though continuing to collaborate on occasional tracks, the pair pursued solo careers especially in the light of Frost’s relocation and subsequent re-focus on production. This led them to work individually with artists such as Tom Gist, J-Ro, Sadat-X, Jinx da Juvy and Rakim’s son Tahmell, however it was Frost’s contribution to Seven 13’s “God Bless Dope Rappers” compilation earlier this year which was the catalyst for the new EP

Also released through Seven 13 Music & Ent, “Veteran” is a warm up to a new album planned for 2017, and includes the single “Leave It Alone” featuring Ruste Juxx, a tribute to Sean Price.
