VerbalSwardz800

It’s been a couple of years since his last official release, but one of the UK’s most respected hip hop lyricists Iron Braydz has been putting in the work and is back with a vengeance.

2013 saw the north London MC join old sparring partners Melanin 9, Cyrus Malachi and Phoenix da Icefire as the most recent addition to the Triple Darkness crew while remaining a regular feature on the city’s live circuit. It was also a year which saw him on set appearing in a new upcoming Simon Baker film and spend many hours in the lab recording a series of releases for the year ahead.

The first of these is his new Verbal sWARdz EP which releases on 14th April. Mainly self produced, the 10 tracks include features by Sean Price, Kyza, Skriblah, Triple Darkness and on this new Daniel Taylor produced joint Millennium, there’s a welcome appearance by Organized Konfusion’s Prince Po.

You can connect with Iron Braydz on twitter @Braydz and also Prince Po over at @PrincePo

International media will be serviced with the EP very shortly. Any press or magazines who wish a promotional copy to review, or to arrange an interview with Braydz should send their request to UrbanElite PR HERE

RighteousFury-UCL

Rare FM is the student run radio station of University College London, and their affiliated magazine is Under City Lights.

They are the latest to give closer inspection to the new album “Righteous Fury” by hip hop MC Matt Maddox. His sophomore solo release following Asylum Artistry (2010), the ex Guerilla War Tactix member brings the classic west coast hip hop values to the table, unsurprisingly given his origins in Long Beach California. Now based in Kansas in the heart of America’s MidWest, the rapper calls on some choice production skills from Nemesis, Vanderslice, C Lance, Sicknature & Skammadix over which he lays down some serious lyricism and rhyme skills.

Joined on the mic on feature duties by such notables as Tragedy Khadafi, Reef The Lost Cauze, Adlib, Edd Bundy and King Magnetic, the album is also laced with quality turntablism with the scratches & cuts courtesy of the UK’s DJ TMB.

UCL’s Josh Williams may have been new to the name but explains why he’s a convert to the cause HERE

There will be much more review and feature coverage in the international media over the coming weeks, but those in NYC, New Jersey, Chicago, Virginia, North & South Carolina and Wisconsin will have the opportunity to see him perform live very shortly with Reef the Lost Cauze and Adlib at the following venues:

RighteousFury-SoundparlorReview

Following on from their recent interview with the Kansas based MC, American online music magazine Soundparlor reviewed his sophomore album “Righteous Fury” which releases 25th February on Red Phone Records / Seven 13 Music

Drawing from his origins in Long Beach southern California, the album reflects his musical influences in terms of classic hip hop with a mix of the more raucous approach of a Rage Against the Machine. The review picks up on his own substantial contribution to the album and the mindset behind it:

It’s a deep collection–19 songs–yet comes in at just around an hour, meaning Maddox favors quick hits rather than extended jams. And this preference suits his heavyweight, aggressive lyrical flow.” while acknowledging the production and features from artists such as Tragedy Khadafi, Reef the Lost Cauze, King Magnetic, Nemesis, Sicknature of the Snowgoons, C Lance of Jedi Mind Tricks, the UK’s Edd Bundy and many more, including the turntablism of DJ TMB
