Multi-genre online UK magazine Shout4Music caught a few minutes with Long Beach hip hop group Horseshoe Gang last week just after the release of their new album “Anti-Trap Music”.

The interview focuses on the new album, the subject matter covered including the motivation behind its title, and the recording process. They also discuss how they feel they’ve evolved from their earlier releases and how they operate now in comparison to when just starting out, their passtimes outwith music and also the current political situation in the United States.

A few weeks back, Horseshoe Gang met up with US online tv channel WKNDTV at their local Long Beach studios – the station has bases coast to coast.

In this filmed interview, Demetrius, Dice, Kenny and Julius discuss their new album “Anti-Trap Music” and the influence and guidance provided by their elder brother Crooked I (aka KXNG Crooked), they speak on their well documented rap battle with Hopsin’s Funk Volume last year, give their thoughts on collaborating with other artists and talk about meeting with Death Row’s Suge Knight.

West coast rap group Horseshoe Gang released their fourth studio album “Anti-Trap Music” today through Seven 13 Music & Entertainment, and made an immediate and impressive impact.

Available on iTunes HERE the online digital store made the album one of their select few featured album releases for 29th April. Within hours it reached #46 in the US charts, and #54 in the UK. It has subsequently risen again in the past few hours

Recently, west coast hip hop group Horseshoe Gang chopped it up with Joe Blakk & Mr Caypre on High End Radio which broadcasts through the Siccness Radio network.

The crew spoke about the COB (Circle of Bosses) movement started by their elder brother KXNG Crooked before addressing their tag as “the new saviours of the west coast” as part of the discussion on the loss of real lyricism in hip hop, and those artists who are bringing it back on the agenda.

The show’s hosts addressed the track “Why Men Cheat” from the group’s debut album “Gangsta MC” and their reputation over the years of talking about all forms of real life issues, before the subject moved to cyphers.

When asked whether they thought Fetty Wap, Young Thug, Future and Rich Homie Quan could go toe to toe in a cypher, Horseshoe Gang threw the doors open and laid down a challenge to allcomers to take ’em on before finishing the interview with Julius launching into a fierce 16 bar freestyle

West Coast hiphop crew Horseshoe Gang sat down with Scyren Joseph from online publication 7th Boro recently in the build up towards the release of their fourth studio album “Anti-Trap Music” on April 29th – available to pre-order on iTunes HERE

In another typically frank and in-depth interview, the group chopped it up about the new album and how it compares to their considerable back catalogue including mixatpes and EP’s, the automatic association of their name with their elder brother KXNG Crooked while being dubbed “The Left Coast Slaughterhouse”, and how with them being brothers, the family dynamic affects the creative process.

In “Shoe-icide Squad” these lyrical marksmen use rhymes like bullets to address the increased number of young black men killed at the hands of the police.
