London rapper Phoenix da Icefire and producer Husky Brown released their phenomenal new album “Panacea” on Tuesday May 5th through New Dawn Records.

The fresh and rare fusion of hip hop, dub, bass, r&b, electronica and soul provides the soundtrack for Phoenix’s narrative addressing many of today’s key issues facing the planet including climate change, environmental destruction, mental and physical health, knife crime, racism and inner city life.

Last week M.I. and DJ Cutt from Constant Deviants were in New York for a busy schedule of radio interviews promoting their new album “Omerta” which released on Tuesday June 28th through Six2Six Records.

It is being distributed worldwide on vinyl and CD formats from July 15th through Fatbeats, and is available to buy now as a digital download direct from the label’s BANDCAMP

On Wednesday June 29th, having been in Brooklyn to guest on DJ Bazarro’s Beatminerz Radio show, they then travelled through to New Jersey to drop in on DJ C Reality, Greystoke, Mateo and Dave Rock at Flip The Script Radio.

The show broadcasts live every Wednesday from 8pm – 11pm EST, and the stream uploaded to their Mixcloud – check it out

More audio streams and videos of their various guests appearances are being uploaded to the internet and we’ll highlight them all here. They include freestyles by M.I., in depth interviews about the group’s history, thoughts on all things hip hop and the whole background to the concept of the new album.

Constant Deviants celebrate the 20th anniversary of releasing their debut 12″ single “Competition Catch Speed Knots” next year, and last week released their new album “Avant Garde”.

It is their fourth album in six years since officially re-forming in 2009 and setting up their own Six2Six Records label. Whether you prefer digital, vinyl or CD formats, all can be bought or ordered HERE

They’ve received an impressive level of public & media support in the past couple of months for both the quality of the album and their general approach which still draws strongly from the traditional elements of hip hop but for a modern age.

GUESTS ON THE NOT 97 SHOW 13TH MAY

Last week, Emcee M.I. and producer DJ Cutt were in New York and dropped by the GID Radio studios in Brooklyn to appear as guests on the Not 97 Show hosted by Mic Handz and the Smokin Aces crew. Also appearing were Tragedy Khadafi, El Da Sensei, Jake Palumbo and Nutso. It’s filmed and streamed live every Wednesday night from 10pm EST.

In the lead up to the release of their fourth studio album “Avant Garde” on 12th May, Constant Deviants duo DJ Cutt and Emcee M.I. sat down with US online Hip Hop Vibe to chop it up about the new release and various other issues.

Also on the agenda, the pair spoke about their near 20 years in the industry and how they first came to work together, the early lyricists who influenced them and they give their views on today’s commerical rap. They also discuss their time in the major sector, working with manager Mark Pitts, Arista and Roc-A-Fella and how going back to being independent and setting up their own label has been of benefit to them, and how the business model can be of benefit to other independent artists

Long running British online Hip Hop Kings has recently morphed into HHK Mag, and not only cover stories on hip hop from around the world but also branched into Sports, Movies and Gaming – new site is at www.hhkmag.com

This partnership produced a new movie “Swiss Banks” filmed in Baltimore, Washington DC and Switzerland and features Emcee M.I. in an acting role. The soundtrack is a mix of beats provided by producers on SWC’s roster and M.I. on the mic, a partnership also known as Trilateral Commission. The concept behind the movie was based on Michael Stanley’s best selling novel “The Swiss Conspiracy”, and it was recently uploaded to Youtube

M.I. will also be appearing on the new online video show “Rapping with Leiberman” on Wednesday 8th April from 7pm EST.

Hosted by Jon Leiberman (Sirius FM / Howard Stern), the show is a lively debate about the various political issues of the day mixed with news about the artist – last week’s guest was Bishop Lamont. The show streams live on Youtube, Google Hangouts and also via EasyJoe.com
