Rapper & producer duo Tone Chop & Frost Gamble release their debut “official” EP on November 18th through Seven 13 Music & Entertainment.

Once rivals in upstate NY’s rap battle scene, the pair joined forces in rhyming and tagging during the 90’s before Frost’s relocation to Canada. While remaining in touch, they pursued solo careers with Chop releasing a numerous mixtapes which included collaborations with Jinx Da Juvy, St Laz and Tom Gist

Meanwhile Frost’s earlier productions saw him work with Sadat-X, J-Ro, Rakim’s son Tahmell and his joint “Honey” with ZotheJerk appeared on Seven 13’s “God Bless Dope Rappers” compilation earlier this year which also featured Royce da 5’9″, Horseshoe Gang, Kid Vishis and Crooked I.

The first single from the EP was “Leave It Alone”, a tribute to the late Sean Price which features Ruste Juxx and Nobi, available on iTunes.

A further bonus cut “Being A Boss” was released this week and made available as a free download direct from the Soundcloud stream. Check them out

Ahead of the release of a new album “Omerta” in early summer, the group have dropped this new bonus cut “Gavone” as a free download today, with DJ Cutt revisiting 7th Wonder’s “Daisy Lady” in the mix.

New Jersey / Baltimore duo Constant Deviants have worked together in various ways since the mid 90’s, and after a time spent operating within the major label sector, they came back together in 2009 to set up Six2Six Records, and since then have released 3 studio albums and various orther affiliated projects.

Their fourth studio album “Avant Garde” releases on 12th May, and Lafayette Hicks – himself involved with hip hop since the good ‘ol days – ran the rule over it for online The Hip Hop Foundation

Afforded a 4 star rating, the review also outlines some of the duo’s back story and notes Emcee M.I.’s lyricism “There’s great storytelling here, words of wisdom, braggadocia, a bit of thuggery…..something for everyone” and on DJ Cutt’s production “His beats have that golden era quality to them but by the same token, they sound fresh and not like some recycled 90’s tracks. I also liked how he incorporated scratches into the tracks, cutting up everything from Onyx to Slick Rick. He even got in a line from my favorite old school movie Beat Street, so I was won over just from that.”
