RAPISOUTTAINTERVIEW

Just over two weeks ago, New Jersey’s Tru Trilla, Prince AK and Riq da Kid – aka 050 Boyz – made the short journey over to NYC to be guests on DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Outta Control Show on Sirius XM.

With them was long time associate Treach from Naughty by Nature who worked with them at the time of his Garden State Greats movement of 2004. Prince AK has also been working with Treach and KayGee more recently as part of the newly formed Naughty Nation

The group released their album “Everything 050” in August (AVAILABLE HERE) which includes features from Treach, DoItAll, Lakim Shabazz, Double O, Famiil (Rottin Razkals), Tha Advocate and many others representing Brick City Newark, East Orange and Essex County.

The album’s sole producer Clinton Place is another connection from back in the day when as DJ Jamal #9 he performed with Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit signing Supreme C with Prince AK.

Lat week, footage shot by The Beeshine emerged of 050 Boyz in a freestyle cypher with Boston’s N.B.S. on the show, and this week the interview segment with the group & Treach hit the internet. Check it out

The group are still conducting interviews with international press publications, and are special guests of DJ Premier on his LFHQ Show on Sirius XM on Friday 25th September. They will also be guests on the Bodega Cold Kutz show shortly, re-arranged from last week when the show had to be cancelled unfortunately due to technical difficulties

Currently planning a series of shows in the months ahead, having just performed at Newark’s “24 Hours of Peace” headlined by Rakim, DJ Marley Marl, DAS EFX and Smif n Wessun, connect with them on FACEBOOK, or on twitter @050_Boyz (@PrinceAK_050 @RiqdaKid_050 @EgoFree2_050) and check out their single “DNA” which has been getting a huge amount of airtime in the past couple of months

The new album “Righteous Fury by ex Guerilla War Tactix member Matt Maddox releases tomorrow 25th February on Red Phone Records / Seven 13 Music.

Originally out of Long Beach California and currently resident in Kansas, the rapper has put several years’ work into this his sophomore release, and it includes all the key qualities of an authentic hip hop album – skilled lyricism and wordplay, quality beats and turntablism, and a well chosen selection of special guest features

UK online magazine PopCulturez are the latest to give their full endorsement in this new review published today. “Lyrically thick, this album takes things right back to hardcore rhyme spitting such as on the superb, uncompromising, ‘Murder Weapons.” as the magazine goes into further detail of the east meets west influence throughout, concluding “Without playing to the commercial galleries, this album hits hard with no filler, clocking in at 57 minutes to deliver a lean and mean collection“.
