Released today, “Play No Games” is the second single to be taken from the album “Beautiful Foundations” by New York State rapper and producer duo Tone Chop and Frost Gamble, out through New Dawn Records on May 15th.

Layers of classic boom bap hip hop beats underpin hard bars as the veteran rap battle champion goes on the hunt with a verbal salvo aimed at upcoming title contenders. Joining them on the mission is legendary turntablist DJ Eclipse, renowned for his work with Non Phixion, Ill Bill and ongoing Fat Beats ambassador. Still flying the flag high and representing the dopest new underground bangers with his Rap Is Outta Control Show on Shade 45, the cutting skills on this joint are typically off the scale, stoking the fires further in a fusion of gritty authentic heat.

Knockout punchlines in a heavyweight bout for the heads, this also marks the label’s first release during their 30th anniversary year.   Slick business from the Binghamton boys, dial it up to the max.

Available to stream and download from a multitude of digital platforms and stores including APPLE, TIDAL and below on Bandcamp and Spotify

The official video is also now playing on Youtube

More information about the single and album release is available at the label’s official website www.newdawnrecs.com

Back at it again, Brick City’s Tru Trilla returns today with the AA side single “Respectfully”, lifted from last year’s album ‘XVI : Return of the Gods’ released through New Dawn Records.

Laced throughout with the kind of bullish bars and beats which earned it a front page spotlight on Bandcamp, the New Jersey veteran assembled a heavyweight line up of guest featured artists and producers to deliver a classic soundtrack fuelled by the highest calibre lyrical firepower.

Produced by Frost Gamble, the latest cut is a further testament to the levels.  Tru drops knowledge with Brooklyn’s Justo the MC and Floridian NapsNdreds in another showcase of dexterous rhymes and slick flows by verbal marksmen at the height of their game.  The narrative is reinforced by the “Qataban Remix” courtesy of label affiliate Shahin, flipping the script with an intense fusion of strings, breaks and sub Saharan flavas that hits differently.

Available to stream on and download on multiple digital platforms including APPLE MUSIC / iTUNES, AMAZON, TIDAL MUSIC and below on BANDCAMP & SPOTIFY

There is also a brand new official video for the “Qataban Remix” just premiered on the label’s Youtube channel

Smoother than butter corn”, once again slick flows deliver the jewels as award winning upstate NY rapper Anthony Kannon returns with the new single “Make It Rain”, the second from the album “Cautionary Tales” produced entirely by Frost Gamble which releases October 20th 2023.

Consistent  with the album’s emotionally charged biographical themes reflecting on traumatic childhood experiences, the consequences through adolescence and the subsequent progression to new horizons,  the new joint addresses the journey and struggle to escape the perceptions of the past.

A powerful narrative dipped in the hot sauce of a gritty skewed beat marinated with a generous helping of soul,  a choice cut out now on New Dawn Records.

Available on Apple Music, Tidal Music, Amazon Music and below on Bandcamp & Spotify

The accompanying video for “Make It Rain” has been released on the label’s official Youtube channel

It’s a welcome return to the hip hop fold for rapper and producer Az Izz from the legendary New Jersey group The Outsidaz, known for their early work with Wu Tang, The Fugees and D12 and who counted Pace Won and Rah Digga among their numbers.  His new album “Dopeliss” is out July 3rd through New Dawn Records, and the first single taken from it released today.

The self produced “Gettin’ It” features East Orange luminary Drift, and over the funked up percussive beat the pair trade claims for what’s theirs   while also bringing a little extra traditional rap beef to the table, in this case a historic tussle with Royce da 5’9″.  The accompanying video was also released today, shot in the back yards of Brick City.

Digitally distributed by Ingrooves / Universal and available from Apple, Amazon, Tidal and Spotify
