Recently, NY state rapper Tone Chop and Frost Gamble jumped on the three-way with Chicago based journalist Sherron Shabazz, editor of online publication “The Real Hip-Hop”.

The interview has just been published in full today, in essence a transcript of their discussion which comes over with the vibe of three regular fellas choppin it up.

The speak about the new album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” which was released on September 29th, in particular the writing process which reflects a long standing close bond between the pair, and Chop divulges the very personal nature of tracks such as “Inspiration” and “See You Again”.

The album follows the release of their “Veteran” EP, very solid in its own right, but many have acknowledged the step up in level again of lyrical content and production this time around, and the duo discuss their drive for progression while explaining how they linked with featured artists Kool G Rap and Tragedy Khadafi.

With all three on the line sharing similar experience and knowledge of hip hop through the years, the conversation turns to Jay-Z’s latest album, Tupac’s body of work and contemporary mainstream rap compared with the independent scene past and present.

Finally they describe how their signing with Miami label 22 Entertainment has been both the result of persistence and longevity within the industry, and the catalyst for their significant emergence the past year.

Makes for an excellent read which you can do so HERE

New single “Guilltone Chop” by eastcoast rapper & producer duo Tone Chop and Frost Gamble, the second to be taken from their album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” out on September 29th through 22 Entertainment.

Earlier this week, the label dropped the single “Barely Human” by Royce da 5’9″ and Tech N9ne for the 6th anniversary of their releasing Nickel’s “Success Is Certain”. High calibre lyricism stays on the agenda with this new one, Frost’s atmospheric backdrop underpinning sharp menacing bars by Chop and guest artists Planet Asia and Canadian upcomer White Rhino.

The album also features the States’ most viewed online rap battler D.N.A., Kool G Rap and Tragedy Khadafi with whom Frost has just wrapped up a new project. He is also near completion of a new solo producer album which includes contributions by Ras Kass, Skyzoo, KXNG Crooked, Ruste Juxx, Rah Digga & Guilty Simpson.

“Guillotine Chop” available to stream and buy on Bandcamp

Last weekend, Frost was in NYC finishing his new project with Tragedy Khadafi. He was in town with Detroit rapper ZotheJerk with whom he released the “Black Beach” album in May. While there, they took the opportunity to meet with media, and took the trip up to Bushwick to appear on DJ Toshi’s Classic Storm Radio show.

We’ve had the pleasure of promoting singles and albums by many artists from the US, Canada and UK over the past decade and more.

Some were already well known and others less so initially, but they all share one thing in common….damn they can spit and make bangin’ beats !

We were looking through our Soundcloud page yesterday which hosts some of their singles and album streams, and decided to put together a little compilation for your listening pleasure. One for the Hip Hop connoisseurs of gritty rhymes, superior lyricism, classic production and a healthy dose of turntablism thrown into the mix for good measure.
