TimingIsEverything-Blacksheep

British online publication Blacksheep Magazine have reported on international hip hop for many years now, providing news, interviews and reviews of releases and artists who would draw from the more traditional elements of the genre

They are the latest to run the rule over the debut album by Detroit rapper Kid Vishis, the younger brother of Slaughterhouse veteran Royce da 5 9, and have afforded “Timing is Everything” a 4 star rating. Contributor Andrew Kay opens with the question “by being Royce’s kid brother, the question remains: is he a credible chip off the old block?“.

He then goes through the tracks produced by Mr Porter, Chase Moore (Hippie Sabotage), Nemisis and Nick Zervos before concluding “no one can fault the execution of making an album that says more than what’s on the tin – Kid has his own style, differing from his more established brother. But on the face of this, he’s in his own lane and on his way to a very credible career with (hopeful) longevity and much success.

VerbalSwardz-Bearded

British online publication Bearded Magazine covers many genres of music and has consistently championed new artists they feel have genuine quality and talent.

On the day of the release of his new “Verbal sWARdz” EP, they have published an introductory feature on north London Emcee and producer Iron Braydz which acknowledges the work he has put in to date, whether when based in NYC working with DJ J-Ronin’s All Elements crew, Sean Price, Guilty Simpson and Sav Kills, or via his previous landmark releases Devil May Cry and Holla @Braydz.

One of the UK’s most highly rated lyricists for a number of years, both at home & abroad and together with the rest of his Triple Darkness crew, the article reflects “True hip-hop in the UK is reserved for underground scenes and hidden-away locales. There’s not many who can take the style to the mainstream and retain integrity – Tinie who? – but if Braydz continues the way he does, there’s gonna be a helluva lot of people clamouring to get involved.

“Verbal sWARdz” is only the first of a series of releases planned from Iron Braydz in the year ahead – be on the lookout for this guy and check the full feature at Bearded Magazine

The EP includes features by Prince Po, Sean Price, Triple Darkness, DJ Shortee Blitz, Phat Kat, Kyza and Skriblah and is available now from Iron Braydz’ BANDCAMP

VerbalSwardz-BackSpin

Germany’s Backspin Magazine compile a weekly column of hip hop & rap releases from around the world in their “Plattenkiste” series, snapshot reviews highlighting what they rate

They have just picked up on the new EP “Verbal sWARdz” by London rapper & producer Iron Braydz which releases on 14th April. The approximate translation reads as follows :

Iron Braydz makes “Verbal sWARdz” dark and completely convincing all along the line. Simple beats and an aggressive flow is the secret recipe of “Verbal sWARdz”. That Iron Braydz has been influenced by Wu-Tang Clan, Immortal Technique, and Public Enemy you can sense throughout While the record may be missing a dash of variety, Iron Braydz and “Verbal sWARdz” is exactly the right thing to roll the car’s windows down and arrive in the City like a boss.

You can read the whole column HERE

Long considered one of the most skilled lyricists in the UK, the newest member of Triple Darkness has picked up a lot of international media interest in this release, the results of which will be seen in the weeks ahead. The EP is the first of a series of releases planned in the year ahead, and taken from it is the joint “Millennium” which features Organized Konfusion’s Prince Po
