Latest review of Copywrite’s new album “God Save The King (Proper English Version)” which releases on Man Bites Dog Records on 7th August

This one is in Rago Magazine, run by the guys from Wolftown Recordings, Tricksta & Late.

Those boys have been involved in UK hip hop for many years and consistently been putting out their own products internationally as well as running the magazine, several different blogs and various other ventures. Respect the grind

Here Tricksta pretty much goes in on his assessment of this album!! No holds barred, he definitely gives it the seal of approval :

“Well my friends, it’s like this, if you don’t like something on this album then you are either a hater, deaf or totally lost the plot”

Lol, no messin about in a true West Midlands stylee!!

In the lead up to the release of his new album God Save The King (Proper English Version), which finally has a confirmed release date of 7th August via Man Bites Dog Records, Copywrite took some time out to speak with one of the UK’s leading onlines Hip Hop Kings.

Here he compares the new album with his previous release The Life & Times of Peter Nelson, his working with such a wide range of UK artists & the concept behind the album, his work on the new Megahertz album and which producers he’d be keen to work with in the future and plnas for touring

The album has certainly sparked the imagination of the UK media to date, with coverage in a diverse range of publications including Subba Cultcha, Data Transmission, Blues & Soul, Flavour, K-Mag, Beatnik, British Hip Hop, SBTV, What Culture, Kix, Clash and even weekly entertainment magazine Nuts. Much more to follow

With production from Marco Polo, Bronze Nazareth, Stu Bangas, Vanderslice, Curtiss King & Kount Fif complementing Copy at his best & featured artists such as Royce da 5 9, Crooked I, Seam P, Killah Priest, Roc Marciano, Evidence, Torae, Akala, Mystro, Genesis Elijah, Bigz, S.A.S, Melanin 9, Iron Braydz, Context & Dru Blu, its little wonder that this unique release is thought to be one of the biggest independent hip hop albums of 2012.

Latest review of Copywrite’s new album “God Save The King (Proper English Version)” which releases on Man Bites Dog Records in July 2012 – this time in London’s Beatnik Online

Here, Rob Boffard, who also has his 20/20 show every Thursday night 10pm GMT on Recharged Radio, picks up on the quality of production throughout as well as the contributions made by Copywrite himself and the standard of UK and US artists featuring on this particular release

This isnt a release with international features for the sake of it – artists such as Iron Braydz & Crooked I, Genesis Elijah & Royce da 5 9, Akala & Sonny Seeza, Mystro, S.A.S. & Sean Price, Bigz Flygerian & Inspectah Deck and many more standing shoulder to shoulder throughout makes this a cut above the norm.

Its unprecedented to have this level of international collaboration on an independent hip hop release where the standard remains so consistently high, a fact that’s not missed in the article

Latest UK online magazine to review the new album by Ohio’s Copywrite “God Save The King (Proper English Version)”

This time Scott Ronan gives it the 4 star treatment for WhatCulture

He gives a full track by track analysis, picking up on the wordplay and metaphors on display throughout, the dope production and again that international blend of high quality UK and Stateside Emcees complimenting each other on this imaginative release

He summarises

All in all a very strong Hip Hop album. It provides strong Boom Bap beats that sound great in my car with interesting talented lyricists. Copywrite has always been a great lyricist who has earned his underground stripes but with this album he has shown his respect for UK hip-hop by including so many of the dopest UK emcees. Copywrite is a talented battle emcees who uses detailed metaphors and snappy punch lines all over this album. The list of guests help to make this a good strong album. Easily a four out of five.
