He touches upon some of the highlights of his career to date and the yardstick by which he measures success, and discusses his come up over the past 5 years to working with artists such as Talib Kweli before outlining his ideal vision for the future and immediate plans for 2015.

Cincinnati’s Buggs tha Rocka re;eased his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” this week, available as a free download from www.buggstharocka.com and also via the My Mixtapez App for mobile devices which in the space of 48 hours has received around 30,000 hits already.

There has been much international media interest in the release and artist over the past few weeks, which has seen Buggs conduct interviews with publications based in the USA, UK, Europe and New Zealand, and is in fact still doing so.

The latest press coverage comes from the UK, in the form of an interview with Rough Online and an album review by PopCulturez.

Buggs-RoughMagazine

In the feature published by Rough, Buggs discusses his earlier releases such as Mutant Level 5 which featured Little Brother, Sa-Ra, Freeway & London’s S.A.S., and his mixtape releases with DJ Clockwork, including The Wrath of Zeus. He speaks on the recognition he has received from his home city, having been named “Hip Hop Artist of 2014” at the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards and addresses the hip hop scene there, and those who have paved the way for others to follow.

The topic of discussion then switches to the re-emergence of lyricism in hip hop, a bi product of the throwback to the Golden Era which took place in the worlds of fashion, music and culture, and how he developed a working relationship over the past couple of years with Talib Kweli as well as his recent sit down with Pharrell Williams in Los Angeles.

Buggs-PopCulturez

PopCulturez is a multi faceted online covering most forms of music as well as other popular cultural outlets such as tv, lifestyle, film and news.

Their summarized style review concludes “Lyrically, Buggs delivers his thoughtful yet personal, at times autobiographical rhymes over heavy beats, samples and a frequent jazz tinted vibe…at 19 tracks in length, and clocking in at well over an hour, this offers some genuine bang for your buck.

Earlier in the week, to mark the release, Buggs released his new video “Religiously” featuring Donte from MOOD, shot in Los Angeles while there to perform at the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in November with Mac Miller & DJ Clockwork. Its been an epic journey, but the day has finally arrived

After the initial concept of the album was born during the first couple of months of 2011, and after a very long & winding road in the months which followed, Copywrite’s new album “God Save The King (Proper English Version)” releases today on Man Bites Dog Records

A Stateside version called simply “God Save The King” was released with an entirely different tracklisting in the States in February 2012, however this version took the longest to complete given the massive array of international talent from the UK, United States and Canada who also feature.

Needless to say, the UK media have taken a huge interest in the release over the past few months, with nearly 30 separate magazines either reviewing or publishing interviews (with more to come), djs & online platforms from both sides of the Atlantic jumping all over the various single releases and videos, with further UK satellite tv station support.

Latest to give props to the album is The Hip Hop Village, the people behind which also run 16 Bars Magazine

Also look out for a new video “Ghost in the Machine” featuring London’s Context coming very soon

Copywrite himself is also busy putting together the new Megahertz album, and plans are underway for a European tour taking place early 2013
