In the column just published there is news of the line up announced so far for this year’s Boom Bap Festival taking place in Suffolk 29th – 31st July. Among the many performers will be R A the Rugged Man, A-F-R-O, Task Force, Blade and a special one off show by the reformed for the day Phi Life Cypher.

There’s news on releases by Bumpy Knuckles, Ras Kass, Crooked I & Statik Selectah, Elzhi, Anderson Paak, Jazz T & Cappo and many others, including the new album “Anti-Trap Music” by Horseshoe Gang who “have probably got a good chunk of hip-hop pessimists back onside. The four brothers, posse-thick and patiently waiting to fire saliva, pick off multiple styles except for you-know-what..”

Cincinnati’s rising hip hop star Buggs tha Rocka has had a busy past few months.

First with the release of his album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” in December 2014 which drew international critical acclaim, he then signed a two album deal with Talib Kweli’s Javotti Organization for his new project with Donte from MOOD going by the name of “Space Invadas”

He has also just been featured in the new Issue 40 of American multi genre printed publication Ghettoblaster Magazine which is hitting shelves now in the USA and Canada. Other features in this issue include Joey Bada$$, Ras Kass & Apollo Brown, Ghostface Killah, Torche, Swervedriver and many more.

Buggs tha Rocka will also be returning to Austin Texas later this month to perform at the SXSW Festival for the third consecutive year. Germany’s The Snowgoons have had a big year in 2012 since releasing their Dynasty album in July via Babygrande Records

Producers DJ Illegal and Det have come a long way since starting out in 1999, and since being joined by Sicknature and J.S. Kuster in 2011, theyve made massive inroads with the most recent release which includes features from Ghostface Killah, Joell Ortiz, Sean Price, Ill Bill, Killah Priest, Termanology, Planet Asia, Ras Kass, Ruste Juxx, Blacastan and many more.
