Award winning upstate NY rapper Anthony Kannon and hip hop producer Frost Gamble release their new album “Cautionary Tales” through New Dawn Records on October 20th 2023

The pair have just announced two special launch events to mark the release

The first takes place on Thursday 26th October at The Osborne Taphouse, 112 Osborne Street Winnipeg where Frost relocated from Binghamton NY some years ago.

Doors open at 8pm with entry on the night priced at $15.00 CAD, and tickets can also be purchased online at Eventbrite. The second event takes place on Saturday November 18th at Deep Dive, 415 Old Taughannock Blv, Ithaca NY where Anthony will perform the entire album with a live band, joined by special guests Mr McBean, Brooklyn’s Justo the MC who will be performing tracks from his new album “Urban Testimony” out November 3rd, and Frost performing a DJ set

Released in May 2020, “Panacea” by London rapper Phoenix da Icefire and producer Husky Brown was nominated for “Best Independent Album” at last year’s AIM Awards.  Postponed due to the pandemic, the rescheduled launch event takes place at Brixton Jamm on Friday November 12th as a joint headline with fellow London rapper and producer Ramson Badbonez who will be showcasing tracks from his recently released album “Lead by Example”, both out on New Dawn Records. 

This new AA side single by the duo has been released today to mark the event.  The Schifrin-esque soundtrack of “Shake Things Up” fuels a barrage of high octane bars unleashed from a fully loaded verbal armoury, while a sublime blend of choice beats and turntablism laces the specially commissioned remix of “Dark Rainbow Light” courtesy of prolific US producer and DJ Tone Spliff whose multiple credits include work with Recognize Ali, King Magnetic, Ruste Juxx, Melly-Mel, Vic Monroe and many more.

DJ Toshi is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his Classic Storm Radio Show by throwing on this must see event for all hip hop heads in New York City, tomorrow night, Saturday November 25th 2017.

He’s brought together a seriously impressive line up which will include live performances by The Beatnuts, Planet Asia, Ruste Juxx, Illa Ghee, Mr Complex, C-Rayz Walz and El Gant.

There will be a special DJ set by D.I.T.C.’s Lord Finesse with further sets by Toshi, Street Vision’s DJ Ready Cee and DJ Mixx. The night will be hosted by Classic Storm’s Sunez, Bodega Cold Kutz’ Doc AHK and local emcee Mic Handz

THE VENUE IS MERCURY LOUNGE, 217 EAST HOUSTON STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10002

In August, Toshi had producer Frost Gamble and Detroit rapper ZotheJerk as guests on the show. The pair released the album “Black Beach” in May.

Frost was in town to finish the recording of his “Rare Fabric” EP with Tragedy Khadafi, released in October, and to help promote his album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” with NY state rapper Tone Chop which released in September and featured Kool G Rap, Planet Asia and rap battler DNA

In early 2018 he will be releasing his solo producer album “I Missed My Bus” which includes featured artists KXNG Crooked, Ruste Juxx, Ras Kass, Skyzoo, Conway, Rah Digga, Guilty Simpson and many more.

North west London rapper Da Flyy Hooligan released his new album “S.C.U.M.” on October 27th through US label 22 Entertainment.

Just announced, east coast hip hop duo Constant Deviants will be performing at the LoudPalooza event taking place in Baltimore on the night of Saturday, June 25th, 3 days before the release of their new album “Omerta”.

In association with Chief Loud and Maryland NORML, the event promotes discussion on the legalization of cannabis particularly for medical use with guest speakers including a retired major of Maryland Police and a Maryland State Delegate.

The entertainment is provided by local comedy and music artists, and with Constant Deviants’ MC M.I. being from the city, they were keen to give the event their full support.

The venue is Castaways Bar & Grill, 2206 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21231

Tickets are early bird $15 in advance with sponsorship bag included, $25 at the door and £35 V.I.P. which includes a free drink, Maryland NORML t-shirt and a free guest.

The following day, June 26th, Constant Deviants head north to spend a week in NYC meeting with media and appearing as special guests on various radio shows, starting with DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Outta Control. The duo are also in the planning stage of scheduling a special album release party in the city for that week.

M.I. is currently filming scenes in Baltimore for the new movie “Six2Six” which will also feature Treach (Naughty by Nature), Selena Johnson and Chief Busy Bee Rocker, and the group are set to release a new joint “Cutt for President” early next week. In March they released the single “So Underrated” followed by the first of their new Tre Volte live freestyle video series “Hard in these Streets.

A very rare opportunity to witness jazz drummer and hip hop producer Karriem Riggins perform in London in what is his first ever solo show in London.

With production credits for work with a whole range of well known hip hop artists including Talib Kweli, Slum Village, The Roots, Common and J Dilla under his belt, the jazz drummer has also performed with Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson and Donald Byrd to mention but a few.

He has also turned his hand to a bit of turntablism, and brings his DJ set to England for the show he calls Blend, so called as he mashes together his favourite jazz, soul, funk and hip hop sounds for a unique experience. It’ll get lively…..!!!!

Joining him will be the UK’s First Lady of Hip Hop, ex MTV and BBC 1Xtra presenter DJ Sarah Love. A major player in UK hip hop’s progression since her days at London’s renowned Deal Real and Kung Fu sessions, she now regularly tours overseas to Europe and Australia.
