London rapper / producer duo Phoenix da Icefire and Husky Brown took a little time out recently to sit down with UK online “File Under Hip Hop” having just released their new debut joint album “Panacea” through New Dawn Records.
In the new interview just published, the pair discuss how they first met and the origins of their decision to work together, the concepts behind the subject matter and artwork of the new album and how the lockdown restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak have impacted upon their immediate plans.

Southern rapper & producer Ande Bishop released his debut EP “Ocean$” on 19th May having signed a pertnership deal with his own American Roulette Records enterprise and Seven 13 Entertainment
In the aftermath, he sat down with London’s Guestlist Network who produce a monthly free paper as well as having their online version of the publication.
They discuss his early days starting out in music, his influences and his move from focusing solely on producing to picking up the mic at the turn of 2015. They then turn to the impact of his releases “50 Centences” in January and his single “Old Jay-Z Videos” which was publicly endorsed by Rick Ross.
Ande then explains the hook up with Seven 13 Entertainment, the creative process behind the “Ocean$” EP and his future plans both in terms of recording a new album and the development of the American Roulette roster.

Just after the release of his debut EP “Ocean$” in May, Southern rapper & producer Ande Bishop sat down with London based online Rough Magazine for a “One on One” with their contributor Bunmi Adigun
The pair discussed the progression from producing for fellow American Roulette stablemate Londn Blue to picking up the mic since the turn of 2015 as he embarks on his own solo career, and the recording process of his EP.
He then goes on to talk about being invited onto Hot 97 and the public endorsement of his single “Old Jay Z Videos” by artists such as Rick Ross, the rapid expansion of public awareness both at home and abroad, and his future plans including the recording of a debut album in the not too distant future

A rapid rise to prominence from a new wave of emerging Southern urban artists has seen rapper and producer Ande Bishop make serious moves since his first solo track release “50 Centences” in only January of this year
A further string of single and buzz track launches leading into the Spring culminated in his own American Roulette enterprise signing a partnership deal with expanding US label Seven 13 Entertainment, marked by the release of his introductory EP “Ocean$” on 19th May.
It’s been a remarkable few months for the young artist, and recently journalist Ethan Everton spoke with him for the UK’s multi genre online magazine DataTransmission.
In this feature, the pair discuss that first release “50 Centences” premiered by The Source and the impact it made, including with G Unit themselves. He then speaks about the tie up with Seven 13 Entertainment, how that came about and his production work with stablemate Londn Blue last year on his EP “False Hope”.
They then turn their attention to the new EP, and the reasons behind why he didn’t handle any of the production himself, preferring to hand over to others on the American Roulette roster together with Taylor $upreme, and the influence The Game had in some of the concepts.
While also touching upon his approach to production, the feature concludes by outlining his plans for the next 12 months and the obstacles he’s overcome to achieve his level of progress.

London’s Apex Zero prepares for his Reality Provoking Liberation album launch party with the release of this brand new joint straight out the lab, “Transcendental Emcee”.
The debut solo album was released to wide critical acclaim on 28th October, and this new track brings a lil’ different flava courtesy of Frank Freeman’s production, while Apex displays his trademark skilled wordplay and lyricism
The launch event takes place this Saturday, 7th December, upstairs at The Vibe Bar, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. Apex will be showcasing tracks from the album with a live band, while there will also be performances from Caxton Press and Iron Braydz from Triple Darkness. On the 1’s & 2’s is Itch FM’s DJ A. Gee hosted by Peaches.
With some of the city’s finest talent in the building it’s sure to be a big night not to be missed by all hip hop heads in the area. Having already performed an exclusive freestyle video for leading British online hip hop site UKHH.COM some weeks ago, their contributor Ethan Everton has also now reviewed the album Reality Provoking Liberation which released on 28th October.
The article is yet another endorsement among many publications who have covered the release in the past couple of months, opening “Potentially the rawest truths that you’ll hear on record for the remainder of the year, the philosophies behind the wordplay in Apex Zero’s almost entirely self-produced début album Reality Provoking Liberation is if anything a reflective experience for any listener.”
It is in fact a very in depth appraisal of the album, delving into the finer points of the tracks and is summarized “As stated at the beginning, this is more than an just album to muse too. It’s intention is to bring about a new mentally aware consciousness that’s being prohibited in ways unimaginable.”
This latest coverage comes at the beginning of the week which finally leads up to the long awaited album launch party event. It takes place this Saturday, 7th December, from 8pm – 1am upstairs at The Vibe Bar, 91 Brick Lane, Shoreditch, London E1 6QL.
Apex has been busy in recent weeks fine tuning his set which will be performed with a live band. Also performing on the night will be Caxton Press & Triple Darkness member Iron Braydz. It’s sure to be one of the London’s hip hop events of the month, so definitely not one to miss for all hip hop heads in the area
