Cosmic Hip Hop are a magazine with connections to both France and Switzerland, reporting in the main on “rap Francais” but with some international content.

They have an online platform carrying news, reviews and interviews, but they also occasionally produce a physical magazine sold in stores in areas of Europe, Canada and Africa, typically French speaking territories. They recently published Issue 9, their summer 2015 edition which also included in amongst their regular content a specific focus on New York and New Jersey.

In addition, they featured their interview with Cincinnati Emcee Buggs tha Rocka who had at the time just released his new album “Scattered Thoughts of An American Poet”. Earlier this year, Buggs and Donte from MOOD signed a new record deal with Talib Kweli’s Javotti label for their new project Space Invadaz, and their first release is due out later in the year. This is the album stream of Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet which released free in December (available from www.buggstharocka.com)

In this interview he talks about his early days starting out as an MC and the influence his older brother Royce da 5’9″ has had on his career, the concept behind his debit album “Timing is Everything” and his future release plans including a possible EP later this year. Detroit rapper Kid Vishis, the younger brother of Royce da 5 9, releases his long awaited debut album “Timing is Everything” on 22nd July 2014

West London’s Apex Zero releases his debut album “Reality Provoking Liberation” on 28th October and marks the 2nd anniversary of the London riots by launching this new video “Chaotic Revolt” filmed by Global Faction.

One half of the city’s First and Last duo, he’s released a series of mixtapes and was a regular performer at the renowned End of the Weak / Speakers Corner nights, performing at the EOW World Finals in Berlin in 2010.

The album includes features from Triple Darkness’ newest member Iron Braydz, Amy True from Caxton Press, London’s Invincible Armour and Hasan Salaam. His fierce flow style and subject matter throughout the album are in the best traditions of conscientious hip hop, intelligent rhymes & wordplay over almost entirely self produced beats with additional contributions from DJ Fortune and Omeziah

Citing influences which include Wu Tang, Immortal Technique, Pharoahe Monch, Skinnyman and Klashnekoff, he’s studied some of the best in the business to develop his own identity and style, and has become one of the most impressive new figures on the scene today.
