The latest review of the new album “Black Beach” by Detroit rapper ZotheJerk and eastcoast producer Frost Gamble has just been published in French online magazine “Sagi Hip Hop”.

Featuring KXNG Crooked, Guilty Simpson, Sadat X, Boldy James, Young Bleed and Tone Chop, the album released on May 26th through 22 Entertainment and is available to buy in digital format from a variety of stores including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Bandcamp where there is an exclusive Deluxe edition on offer including bonus cuts and free instrumentals.

Frost has recorded a new album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” with his old NY state sparring partner Tone Chop.

Releasing on September 29th, it includes guest featured artists Planet Asia, rap battling internet sensation DNA, Kool G Rap, Tragedy Khadafi and Canadian upcomer White Rhino. The first single from the album, “Walk the Walk” featuring Kool G Rap will release on June 30th.

The album is the follow up to the pair’s critically acclaimed “Veteran” EP released in November last year from which was taken the single “Leave It Alone”, a tribute to the late Sean P featuring Ruste Juxx and Nobi….give it a spin

Detroit rapper ZotheJerk and NY State producer Frost Gamble, now relocated to Winnipeg, released their joint album “Black Beach” on May 26th through 22 Entertainment.

Frost has entered what is probably one of his most creative and consistent periods of his professional career. He will be releasing a new album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” with his old NY State sparring partner Tone Chop on September 29th.

The follow up to their critically acclaimed EP “Veteran” late last year, the new album includes guest featured artists Kool G Rap, Tragedy Khadafi, Planet Asia and rap battling internet sensation DNA. Look out for the first single “Walk the Walk” releasing on June 30th.

In addition, he has also just announced that he will begin recording a new album with Tragedy Khadafi in the next few weeks while continuing to work on another new solo project which will feature Skyzoo, Ras Kass and many of those who appear on “Black” Beach” and “Respect Is Earned Not Given”.

It’s not difficult to see how his reputation as one of the fastest emerging producers in hip hop has developed in the poast year and is sure to continue into 2018.

A couple weeks back, Detroit rapper ZotheJerk met up with the journalist Sinseer in his home city ahead of the release of his new album “Black Beach” which released on Friday May 26th.

In an in depth interview published over the weekend, the pair discuss Zo’s life growing up in the D, his appearance in the film “8 Mile” and how this led to him developing a working relationship with the late Big Proof of D12.

More recently, Zo relocated to Kansas and subsequently Ohio, and he explains the reasons for the move and the basis on which he received the title “Humanitarian of the Year” at the Kansas City Music Awards in 2014.

They then discuss the new album itself, his working relationship with the sole producer Frost Gamble, the involvement of featured artists Boldy James, Guilty Simpson, Sadat X and KXNG Crooked, and the inspiration behind the themes addressed.

First broadcast by Canadian station CHRW 94.9 FM on May 16th, The Word is Bond Rap Radio Show welcomed Detroit rapper ZotheJerk as their special guest.

Host Chase March spoke with him ahead of the release of his new album “Black Beach” produced entirely by Winnipeg based Frost Gamble on Friday May 26th.

The album “Black Beach” is Detroit rapper ZotheJerk’s social commentary on the existence for many in today’s Black America written from his own experiences and cataloguing those of others.

Issues of police brutality, oppression and injustices are laid out like an open wound while balanced by the acceptance of the responsibility a positive paternal role model must shoulder to break the cycle of self inflicted urban decay. Lyrically intense, the musical backdrop is provided by one of the fastest emerging producers in hip hop, NYC State’s Frost Gamble who is now resident in Winnipeg, Canada. The crate digger fuses jazz, soul, r&b and electronica for a contemporary take on traditional techniques, with some turntablism thrown into the mix.

Detroit rapper ZotheJerk and NY State producer Frost Gamble, now resident in Winnipeg, are set to release their new album “Black Beach” on May 26th. Featuring KXNG Crooked, Sadat X, Guilty Simpson and Boldy James it is a poltically charged take on today’s “Black America” by a lyricist in receipt of a “Humanitarian of the Year” award for mentoring work in his community.

The pair sat down recently to speak on camera to US online “The Underground Hip Hop”.

They discuss their earliest days in music and the artists which influenced them the most, and the circumstances by which they first met. On the album itself, they explain their writing process together and the subject matters addressed before moving on to discuss today’s world of hip hop and rap music more generally.
