Originally established in 1996 and relaunched in 2019, hip hop label New Dawn Records have packed a lot into the past 12 months.

The most recent development announced today is the launch of their new Bandcamp platform where, to begin with, their entire digital catalogue has just been made available to download.

Included are “Panacea” by London’s Phoenix da Icefire & Husky Brown, nominated for “Best Independent Album” at this year’s AIM Awards, “God of Barz” & “The Seymour Chronicles” by New Jersey’s lyrical marksman Tru Trilla with production by Spain’s Sumerio Square, the UK’s Chat One, Chicago’s DNA Beatz and LA’s Clinton Place aka Jamal Nueve, and “Dopeliss” by rapper / producer Az Izz of legendary New Jersey group The Outsidaz featuring Pacewon, D.U. and Drift.

Some of the label’s classic original releases made available in digital format for the first time more recently can also now be downloaded including joints “Y’All Under Surveillance”, “Meltdown” and “Skitzophonetic” by hip hop crew Belles in Monica, together with DMC finalist and turntablist supreme DJ Krash Slaughta’s remixes of the groups tracks via the “18 Showdown EP”

In addition, the extremely rare and unique international project “Sapientia” by Underground Cartel has been made available. A collaboration of artists from around the world including El Meswy (Spain), Swiss Precise (KBH, Blown Celeb, Long Beach), the late Primo Brown of Cor Veleno (Italy), Rapstation presenter Mr CRF (UK), Beni Blanco of French crew Originaire du Sud, Zimbabwe’s Dumi Right, Bleek Wonder (Holland), female rappers MC’s Marya (Italy) and Lockness (NYC) plus many more came together to represent the four corners of the hip hop world on the one record.

New video out today by Brick City’s lyrical marksman Tru Trilla, “Real Rap” featuring fellow 050 Boyz group member Prince Ak is taken from his album “God of Barz” released through New Dawn Records on May 29th.

Filmed in downtown Newark just before the turn of the year, the pair trade verses over a hard edged gritty beat produced by Barcelona’s Sumerio Square.  Set on a verbal warpath, the seasoned veterans deliver punchline salvos of hard bars against weak representations and pale imitations in equal measure, dismantling defences with the ease of prize fighters earning stripes for their home State.  Some spicy heat for the street, 050 Dat !

Released today by New Dawn Records, the third single by New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla to be taken from his forthcoming album “God of Barz” out May 29th.

Following on from “Word of God” and “God’s Sympathy”, the Brick City lyrical marksman brings more of his customary savage firepower to “God’s Mercy”.  Going on a ferocious verbal rampage through a series of relentless hard bars and punchlines, the raw energy is intensified by the explosive production courtesy of Chicago’s DNA Beatz.  Set the dial high and prepare for the onslaught, this is the real deal.

New Jersey’s Tru Trilla releases his new album “God of Barz” through New Dawn Records on May 29th, the follow up to his EP “The Seymour Chronicles” which dropped on March 17th.

Production on the new album is courtesy of Newark native (now resident in LA) Clinton Place aka Jamal Nueve, Chicago’s DNA Beatz, Barcelona’s Sumerio Square and the UK’s Chat One. Fellow 050 Boyz group member Prince Ak is included in the Brick City contingent of featured artists together with Fly Kwa, Middy Murdock and Confucious.  This one’s for the heads, raw and uncompromising, the energy is intense as Tru tackles political tensions, corruption, equal opportunities and the current state of hip hop delivered in a series of fierce and passionate rhymes over a raucous soundtrack that will give the neck muscles a serious work out.

Relaunched last year after a 15 year hiatus, hip hop label New Dawn Records have confirmed today that they will be releasing a new EP and album by New Jersey’s lyrical marksman Tru Trilla over the next few months.

In an official statement published this morning, the label commented

“We relish the prospect of working with an artist of Tru’s caliber and style which represents perfectly our direction of travel as we enter an exciting new phase since re-launching last year.”

We at UrbanElite PR have of course worked with Tru Trilla previously in 2015, then as a member of the 050 Boyz group as they released the classic album “Everything 050”

The worldwide media coverage and radio airplay reflected the appreciation and quality of the rhymes skills, lyricism and dope production, and ultimately led to both DJ Eclipse & DJ Premier inviting them as guests on their Sirius XM shows.

Tru’s new releases feature his 050 Boyz sparring partners Prince Ak and RIQ, and also include many of his long term Brick City affiliates on vocal and production duties, beginning with the new EP “The Seymour Chronicles” which releases on March 17th, the precursor to “God of Barz” which drops May 29th

Produced entirely by another New Jersey native Joey Loax, the EP represents the classic east coast sound while Tru, Prince Ak, RIQ and Fly Kwa all deliver their trademark fierce rhymes, hooks, hard bars and lyricism. An already heavyweight under card before the main event later in the year, the label have just launched a video trailer for the EP on Youtube

Taken from the EP, the singles “Warzone” and “20 to Life” will be released during February
