In the lead up to the release of his debut album “Timing is Everything” we linked up Detroit’s Kid Vishis with HipHop DX contributor Mike Trampe recently.

In the feature published on 24th July, they spoke about the thought process and choice of producers for the album, growing up in the Detroit scene as Eminem and D12 emerged globally and how the city has influenced him to become the artist he is today, and the experience and learning curve that touring in the UK with D12 & his brother Royce da 5’9″ in 2009 brought.

They then discuss his own future plans, his thoughts on the future for Detroit’s hip hop & rap scene, and speaks on the rap battle scene and specifically the Total Slaughter event he attended in early July.

In this new interview, he speaks about the Detroit scene and how it has influenced him through the years, the symbolism of the album’s title and the recording process and what lies ahead for him over the next year.

Detroit’s Kid Vishis has just released the first single from his debut album which is due for release in March 2014 on Seven 13 Music.

The younger brother of Royce da 5 9 is no novice having started out in the city’s open mic circuit over 10 years ago, and first dropped some verses on the M.I.C. Vol 1 mixtape in 2003. Over the past 10 years he has toured the States, Canada and Europe with D12, Slaughterhouse and performed at shows with Slum Village, Rakim, Ghostface, Talib Kweli and Slick Rick.

Honing his craft live to international audiences and releasing multiple mixtapes including the “Sick ‘Em” series, as well as appearing on Royce’s albums “Street Hop” & “Success is Certain”, Kid Vishis has become one of the most respected lyricists of the next generation, and the album one of the most eagerly anticipated for many years.
