Buggs-TheMusicSpot

British online publication The Music Spot Magazine jumped on the phone recently to speak with Cincinnati MC Buggs tha Rocka ahead of the release of his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet”

They speak about the origins of Buggs stage name and the experience of growing up in the Cincinnati area, his early days starting out in the music industry and the various life events which inspire him most lyrically. They then discuss the album itself, the concept behind it compared to previous releases before moving on to the political situation in the United States and the effect, if any, mainstream artists are trying to have in a positive way.

And finally….in answer to a request for exclusive information…Buggs relays his experiences which he believes have seen him abducted by aliens on more than one occasion

The truth really is out there….and you can read about it in full HERE

The album will be available as a free download from Wednesday 10th December at www.buggstharocka.com and via the My MixTapez App for mobile devices. Aloe Blacc returns to the UK for an extended tour starting on Saturday 3rd December at HMV Institute in Birmingham

The Aloe Blacc & The Grand Scheme Tour takes in most major towns & cities throughout the country including Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Bristol & London.

Support on all of the dates comes from the UK’s “1st Lady of Hiphop” DJ Sarah Love, a massive name on the UK hiphop scene from her days mashin up sets in the Kung Fu club nights all the way through to her helping set up MTV Africa, presenting for MTV Base UK and BBC 1Xtra radio.

A regular on the international hiphop club tour circuit, Sarah supports California’s singer, rapper and musician Aloe Blacc. The Stones Throw artist was in the UK earlier in the year appearing on mainstream television programmes such as The Graham Norton Show, having already blessed Later With Jools Holland with a bangin set in support of the highly successful Good Things album.

Expect to hear classic tracks from Shine Through and Good Things as well as some huge hiphop sets courtesy of Ms Love, and further support from Maya Jupiter and The Grand Scheme

Ed Andrews of Huck Magazine has also started an excellent new online quarterly magazine dedicated to stories of hip hop “Take The Stage”

The publication, obviously dedicated to hip hop, looks to get the views, news and stories from key figures on the scene who have developed over the years or have just come up, for a better understanding of how they developed their careers and an insight to what’s happening in the scene generally.

Its a departure from the usual reviews and guest features for a more in depth look behind the scenes, and can act as a useful reference point for new aspiring artists to learn from those who have achieved recognition

Issue 2 has just been released to the internet and features Scroobius Pip, DJ Sarah Love, Dr Syntax, Slug and The Last Skeptik
