I Am Hip Hop Magazine review new Iron Braydz EP “Verbal sWARdz”

North London Emcee and producer kick starts a busy 12 months with the release of his new EP “Verbal sWARdz” on Monday 14th April.

With further releases in the pipeline, whether solo or as a member of Triple Darkness and FuFu Gang, and an acting role in a new independent film “Night Bus” shot by award winning director Simon Baker due out later in the year, the highly regarded lyricist and beatmaker has laid down a strong marker with the new record.

There has been considerable international media interest in his latest 10 track offering, largely self produced and featuring Sean Price, Prince Po, Triple Darkness, Kyza, Phat Kat and Skriblah. Latest review is by British publication I Am Hip Hop Magazine

New Interview – London’s hip hop Emcee & producer Iron Braydz speaks with God Is In The TV

British online music publication God is in the TV took time out recently to meet up with hip hop Emcee & producer Iron Braydz in London’s China Town ahead of the release of his new EP “Verbal sWARdz” which releases to the public on 14th April on his Unorthostract label.

Their writer Taytula Burke spoke with the rapper about the new release and his earliest days including his meeting with Wu Tang’s RZA, and reflects on the current UK and global hip hop scene

Matt Maddox released his new album Righteous Fury on Tuesday 25th February 2014, the follow up to his 2010 release Asylum Artistry.

It is available on Red Phone Records / Seven 13 Music worldwide in digital and physical CD formats from a wide selection of online stores, and today The Rap Up premiered the official audio stream of the entire album

New Interview – Blatantly Blunt speaks with Iron Braydz

North London rapper & producer releases his new EP Verbal sWARdz on 14th April.

One of the most highly rated hip hop MC’s on British shores has a big year ahead, first with the release of the EP which is the first in a series of releases due, and then he is also appearing in a new independent film “Night Bus” directed by Simon Baker who picked up several awards for his Paralympic series for Channel 4.

Braydz has also joined his old sparring partners Melanin 9 n (who of course we worked with in 2012 with his Magna Carta album), Cyrus Malachi, Phoneix da Icefire and Ray Vendetta as the latest member of the city’s Triple Darkness crew. In this interview with online magazine Blatantly Blunt, he speaks on the making of the new EP and appearing in the film, joining Triple Darkness and working with Sean Price & Guilty Simpson and lists his top hip hop records of all time.

Dead End Hip Hop review Matt Maddox album “Righteous Fury”

With only a couple of days to go until the release of the sophomore album by Kansas base MC Matt Maddox, renowned Stateside online magazine Dead End Hip Hop are the latest to run the rule over “Righteous Fury”

Their contributor Samuel Odunsi Jr pays tribute to the essence of the album which is “hearkening back to the earlier days of hip hop that boasted raw lyricism over everything else” and concludes If you miss that raw, old-school hip hop sound I strongly recommend you give this 19-track project a listen. Artists such as Matt Maddox have retained a global market over the years as while many of us remember the sound of decades gone by, new generations not as readily exposed to it on the network channels have discovered the classics in clubs and the internet. For them, it’s “new”, and has qualities not as prevalent elsewhere. Hip Hop and rap music has developed and diversified over the years as happens with every genre. Those who draw from the elements of the Golden Era are not themselves stuck in the 90’s. They have developed that style to the contemporary version they produce today. Everything comes from somewhere, there are differences, one thing is not another, but neither is one thing necessarily “better”than another – the public pays its money & takes its choice.

It’s thanks to artists such as Matt Maddox and many more the world over that a younger generation realize they have a choice

Kansas based emcee Matt Maddox teams up with Canadian producer Engineer (Ras Kass, Immortal Technique, Sean Price, Termanology) on this new single “No Country For Old Men” delivering a raucous tribute to legends in the game while taking aim at the portrayal of the culture today.

The official video has just been launched, the second taken from his new album “Righteous Fury” following on from the recent release of BARbarians

2014 looks set to be a busy year for the ex Guerilla War Tactix member with the album due out via the partnership of Red Phone Records and Seven 13 Music on February 25th, and tours of Europe and Australia due in early Spring.

With features and production from Tragedy Khadafi, Stu Bangas, C-Lance (Jedi Mind Tricks), SickNature (Snowgoons) and King Magnetic, the album is set to throw down a strong early marker for the year ahead
