Southern Rapper & Producer Ande Bishop jumped onto Skype recently to talk with SiriusXM host Jon Leiberman about a range of issues for his “Rapping with Leiberman” online tv show.

The pair discussed his new Ocean$ EP which released earlier this week on Seven 13 Entertainment, before moving onto various political issues including his experiences with racial profiling and the alleged threat of an attack by ISIS in the USA. They then finished by addressing the politics of boxing and the NBA playoffs

Previous guests on the series have included Bishop Lamont, The Bronx’s La Bruja, Cincinnati’s Buggs tha Rocka, Baltimore Emcee M.I. from Constant Deviants & Jack Thriller

Ocean$ EP is available from iTunes now

This introductory EP is the latest in a string of releases since Ande switched focus at the start of 2015 to his own career having produced American Roulette stablemate Londn Blue’s “False Hope” EP in 2014. Tracks including “50 Centences”, “$77.43” & “Strictly for My Friendz” have been featured by a wide range of prominent international online publications, his video for “MoneyorFriendz” was aired by MTV & VH-1, and his single “OLDJAYZVIDEOS” received a public endorsement from Rick Ross

Hotly tipped as the next big thing from the new wave of urban artists coming through from The South, Ande is currently recording new tracks for future planned releases and conducting interviews for world media.

Nearing the end of their UK tour celebrating 25 years since the release of critical Beatdown, Kool Keith, TR Love & Ced Gee – aka the Ultramagnetic MCs – headed north of the border from Leeds to visit Glasgow.

DJ Bunty & co have put on many a good hip hop night at the city’s o2 ABC 2 venue in Sauchiehall Street, and this was no different. As the whole of the UK sweltered in high summer temperatures, the heat was on in more ways than one.

UltrasGlasgow1

The group later commented that they hadnt seen a crowd like the one in Glasgow for many years….and in fact THEY had to try and calm THEM down!!

The Skinny Mag’s Bram Gieben, who had previously interviewed Kool Keith in the lead up to their arrival, went along to check the night out and you can read his review HERE

The last scheduled show of the current European run is at The Dour Festival in Belgium on Saturday 20th July.

The group have also been busy recording new material, and you should be seeing the results of this a little later in the year. They are also due to take part in a BBC radio documentary shortly, more details to follow. Their most recent track release “Let the Bars Go” has proven to be particularly popular at the shows

You can keep up to date with them on twitter, including news on their Ultra Clothing Brand being developed, via the group account @MCsUltra Kool Keith @ultraman7000 and TR Love @TR_Ultra

In the main produced by MBD labelmates Kount Fif and Jason Rose, it has features from Killah Pries, Roc Marciano, Planet Asia, Cappadonna, U-God, Outerspace, C Rayz Walz, Royce da 5 9, Inspectah Deck, Heltah Skeltah and many more.

Album is released on 27th March and there will be a further series of singles and videos over the coming months.

“Early 90’s” is produced by Kount Fif whose credits include Killah Priest’s “Gun 4 Gun” ft Nas, and on this track he’s joined by New York’s Double A.B., Karniege and Torae, the latter having just dropped “For The Record” produced by DJ Premier.

The single reflects the overall motive behind the album, a tribute to hip hop’s “Golden Era”. The LP is rammed full of bangin beats matched with some fierce rhyme skills and flows, and is definitely one for the fans of the “tru skool”

JAMIESON : NEW VIDEO & SINGLE “Last Time I Saw You”

London’s Jamieson drops yet another freestyle and video, in what’s been one of the most prolific periods for output from this MC who in his own words is on his own “foreign exchange”, now on the hard grind in New York City.

He lets loose on this one “Last Time I Saw You” over a jumpin hip hop beat, and its always good to hear someone with the flow skills go in with the shackles removed.

He released the first track “I Told You So” from his new EP “I Came I Saw Volume 3” last week, with a lot more to follow in the next couple of months. He has been in the studio with various other artists recently, among them London’s super producer Beat Butcha, so it looks like being a busy 2012.

Together with the video for “Last Time I Saw you”, also check out footage of him performing live at NYC’s famous SOB’s “Who’s Next” Hot 97 showcase.
