New EP out today through the recently re-launched label New Dawn Records.

’18 Showdown’ includes all the remixes produced by the legendary turntablist Krash Slaughta (DMC Finals / II Tone Committee) for the Belles in Monica crew which were originally released on 12″ vinyl with the addition of new cut “Venom”.  All are now available to stream and download for the first time.

The DJ’s renowned production style fusing imaginative soundscapes, driving beats and immense scratch skills combine with storytelling rhymes and hard bars.  From the fuel injected funk and cutting frenzy of “Meltdown”, to the sinister tension of “What D’Ya Need” and the sonic chaos of “Resistance is Futile”, the EP is a rare collection of artistically expressive and powerful hip hop immersed in a golden era just as a new decade comes in to view.

Krash Slaughta continues to release new material and perform live regularly.  New Dawn Records will announce a new release schedule for 2020 by artists from the USA and UK shortly.

Available to stream and download from APPLE, AMAZON, NAPSTER, BEATPORT, DEEZER, and of course Soundcloud & Spotify

Keep up to date with Krash Slaughta on Facebook and New Dawn Records via their official website and on their official social media platforms Instagram, Twitter and Facebook

Barely 5 months since relaunching after a 15 year hiatus, hip hop label New Dawn Records have been busy expanding their operation.

In the Spring they released a number of digital singles and EP’s by Belles in Monica and Underground Cartel having signed a distribution agreement with US company Ingrooves for that format.

However with a history of releasing vinyl and also with an eye to the future in relation to upcoming signing news, NDR have developed the facility to take orders from the public and retail directly from any location worldwide and are now shipping to several destinations.

They have begun with the limited remaining stock from their back catalogue, the original rare & classic Belles in Monica 12″ singles “Y’All Under Surveillance”, “Meltdown”, “What D’Ya Need” & “Smoke Filled Rooms b/w Skitzophonetic” all in mint condition, 200 gram. The short video on Youtube has just been made to demonstrate the prime condition of their stock and includes track listings and audio snippets of each single .

The singles include remixes by Phi Life Cypher producer DJ Nappa, legendary turntablist & II Tone Committee producer Krash Slaughta, renowned London duo Unsung Heroes, DMC finalst DJ Mr Thing and more.

Many of the tracks were included in the group’s specially formatted digital releases “Y’All in Meltdown” and “Natsukashii” and can be heard on Soundcloud & Spotify.

MagnaCarta-TheFindMag

The Find Magazine is an international publication contributed to by music lovers all over the world interested in hip hop, jazz, funk & soul, like crate digging journalists looking for that real traditional sound, and reporting on it wherever on the planet it happens to be.

One such contributor is Melbourne based writer Mladen Luketin, the latest to give Melanin 9’s new album Magna Carta (out 3rd December) the once over.

There’s been links between the British and Australian hip hop scenes for many years, so between that and the focus of the magazine, its no surprise that the album is well received.

Melanin 9 draws many of his influences from the Golden Era of hip hop, but in this album has also mixed the game up with some experimental contemporary sounds which is a large part of the reason he’s had such a huge range of media interest, combined with his skilled lyricism, wordplay and subject matter

CD versions of the album are available now and can be bought by mail order via http://m9ether.bandcamp.com as can the 12″ vinyl of his single “White Russian” featuring Roc Marciano
