RighteousFury-SoundparlorReview

Following on from their recent interview with the Kansas based MC, American online music magazine Soundparlor reviewed his sophomore album “Righteous Fury” which releases 25th February on Red Phone Records / Seven 13 Music

Drawing from his origins in Long Beach southern California, the album reflects his musical influences in terms of classic hip hop with a mix of the more raucous approach of a Rage Against the Machine. The review picks up on his own substantial contribution to the album and the mindset behind it:

“It’s a deep collection–19 songs–yet comes in at just around an hour, meaning Maddox favors quick hits rather than extended jams. And this preference suits his heavyweight, aggressive lyrical flow.” while acknowledging the production and features from artists such as Tragedy Khadafi, Reef the Lost Cauze, King Magnetic, Nemesis, Sicknature of the Snowgoons, C Lance of Jedi Mind Tricks, the UK’s Edd Bundy and many more, including the turntablism of DJ TMB

UK online publication Blacksheep Magazine have reported on authentic hip hop with superior beats and lyricism for many years, and their writer Andrew Kay gave “Righteous Fury” a test drive to see how it delivered

A 4 star review which dissects the production, lyrical content & flow, particularly his comparison of the legacy left by the true greats to some contemporary representation of the genre in “No Country For Old Men” is summarized “Maddox might come from the Mid-West, but don’t let that judge it or fool you- he’s the real deal: a post recession MC that says something, keeps your head rocking, your brain ticking and giving rap some injection of purpose. Not a moment too soon!”

Latest review of Copywrite’s new album “God Save The King (Proper English Version)” which releases on Man Bites Dog Records on 7th August

This one is in Rago Magazine, run by the guys from Wolftown Recordings, Tricksta & Late.

Those boys have been involved in UK hip hop for many years and consistently been putting out their own products internationally as well as running the magazine, several different blogs and various other ventures. Respect the grind

Here Tricksta pretty much goes in on his assessment of this album!! No holds barred, he definitely gives it the seal of approval :

“Well my friends, it’s like this, if you don’t like something on this album then you are either a hater, deaf or totally lost the plot”

Lol, no messin about in a true West Midlands stylee!!

You can link with the guys on twitter @Copywrite & @RagoMagazine

A huge international release for independent hip hop, unprecedented in its involvement of US and UK artists of such a high stature, circle 7th August on the calendar & make sure you cop that
