New Jersey trio Price AK, Riq da Kid & Tru Trilla, aka 050 Boyz, release their new album “Everything 050” on 4th August

While this may be their debut album as a group, a follow up to their earlier mixtape “050 Dat”, all three members have been involved in hip hop during the past couple of decades as members of groups, with solo projects and as part of the Garden State Greats movement of 2004 launched by Treach (Naughty by Nature) and Fam (Rottin Razkals).

The group formed in the past few years, in part inspired by the concept behind GSG regenerated by DoItAll from Lords of the Underground. The album’s only producer Clinton Place also has a history with the group members going back to the 90’s, and the new release can be viewed as the natural result of many years of collaborations and developed working relationships in New Jersey’s scene.

New Jersey’s 050 Boyz release their new album “Everything 050” on 4th August.

Despite this being their debut album as a group, the trio are no novices to the world of hip hop. Prince AK began as hype man for Flavor Unit’s Supreme C before an acting course with Tracey Moore (50 Cent, Busta Rhymes & Eve) saw him swap the mic for tv and film roles for a number of years.

Riq da Kid and Tru Trilla and their respective groups at the time joined Garden State Greats in 2004, a collaborative movement formed by Treach (Naughty by Nature) and Fam (Rottin Razkals) to help unify and promote artists in New Jersey. Now operating as solo artists, the original 5 members came together again in 2012 to rekindle the spirit of GSG and formed 050 Boyz.

With the support of DoItAll (Lords of the Underground), they released the mixtape “050 Dat” in 2013 before evolving into the current line up and recording the new album which has been produced entirely by long standing associate Clinton Place (Kurupt, Yukmouth, Gillahouse)

From the album is the new single “Pay Them No Mind” featuring DoItAll and NJ vet Tha Advocate

Having just returned from New York meeting with media and appearing on stations such as Beatminerz Radio & Not97 / GID Radio, Baltimore’s Emcee M.I. and New Jersey producer DJ Cutt, better known as Constant Deviants, celebrated the release of their fourth studio album in six years this week.

“Avant Garde is out now on digitally through their own Six2Six Records imprint, while vinyl and CD versions will be available in a couple weeks’ time. Go to the label’s online store to buy or order your copy HERE

The latest in a long line of endorsements comes via this new review in the UK’s online publication Sampleface. Written by London journalist Taytula Burke, you can read what they had to say HERE

The duo are still conducting interviews with various members of the press while also preparing to film a new movie, record a new EP, and in the more immediate future get set to release a new single and the third episode of their popular “3Stylez” video series. Episodes 1 & 2 showing M.I. freestyling with DJ Cutt on the decks were released during April.

Here is Episode 1 – “Heavy Artillery”

Constant Deviants – 3Stylez Series Episode 1 – "Heavy Artillery" from UrbanElite Promotions on Vimeo.

They also dropped a couple of bonus joints recently which don’t appear on any of their albums, but such has been the reaction for dj’s, they may well appear on a future special edition release.

“Just Make Music” and “Thinkin” featuring New York MC Rome who is another on the Six2Six roster, are still enjoying a lot of airtime on hip hop shows around the world.
