Expect this to be the first of many!

London’s Melanin 9 releases his debut official album “Magna Carta” on 3rd December, following on from much vaunted Mixtapes and EP’s “High Fidelity”, “144,000” and “Orion’s Stencil”

Journalist Oli Arditi is first off the mark with a typically in depth analysis of the 14 tracks on offer which includes features by Triple Darkness and Roc Marciano.

As an artist, Melanin 9 is renowned as a conscientious lyricist with superior wordplay, and its no secret that this album has been a long time in the making, as each, verse, track, producer and guest artist is painstakingly put together, a fact Oli picks up on

The degree of commitment and seriousness with which this album has been assembled is hard to miss”….”this is an artwork of great power, remarkable vision and pinpoint accuracy

Its a really insightful review of the album and the artist, and can be read in full HERE

A new single from the album “Landmark” produced by Anatomy will be launched this week, with further special releases earmarked in the coming weeks and months. London’s Melanin 9 ( AKA M9) releases his debut album “Magna Carta” on 3rd December 2012

He’s built up a reputation as one of the country’s most gifted emcees since working with producers Beat Butcha and Chemo on his first Mixtape “High Fidelity” in 2007, and again in 2008 when he launched “144,000” with contributions from Bronze Nazareth, Jon Phonics, Jehst and his group Triple Darkness.

While rippin the mic at events such as “End of the Weak” or opening for international artists Styles-P, Immortal Technique and Wu Tang, he released the highly rated “Orion’s Stencil” in 2010 and featured on tracks by Killah Priest, Rewd Adams, Terra Firma, Copywrite and Logic.

The new 14 track album drops on Red Snow Records and has been a long time in the making, but is rammed full of slammin’ beats and hard hittin’ rhymes. It includes features from Triple Darkness and Flipmode veteran Roc Marciano with production by Jehst, Anatomy, Parental, Tony Mahoney & Ohbliv.

The second video release “Organised Democracy” launched today via Global Faction. Look out for a string of special single releases and bonus cuts droppin over the coming months

Regular visitors to this site – and thanks, we know there’s many of you – may have noticed a slight redesign recently.

While we have been busy over the years generating media & public exposure for the artists and labels we work for, and highlighting their various online platforms, we received many enquiries about the range of services we provide

All of that can now be viewed here at www.urbanelitepr.com

We’ve kept it simple. The main page will continue to provide news on current campaigns, for example copy press, video & single releases, tour news and links to the artists concerned, while various pages have been set up giving more information about who we are, what we do, past examples of media, radio, tv, videos, single releases and tours

UrbanElite Promotions are a PR and Marketing company operating primarily in the UK with secondary operations on mainland Europe. We have 7 years’ experience working with many independent and Major artists from the UK, United States and Canada

The main focus is on hip hop & rap, but have also covered r&b, soul, dubstep, dance, drum & bass and various other styles

We work single, video & album releases, servicing physical & online press, magazines, newspapers, blogs, radio & club djs, satellite tv, provide tour press, assist in setting up events and tour dates, and provide artists & labels with further development, logistical & marketing assistance.

Our reach for single & video releases includes UK, Europe, Canada & United States while album promotions concentrate mainly on the UK market with mainland Europe a secondary option. Tours & events cover mainland Europe and the UK, with secondary options available for Australia

We are aware of other organizations of a similar name such as a community online radio station & a London based Club Night operation, but we have no affiliation with them having been in existence since 1998, wholly independent since 2005.

However, check the various pages highlighted at the top of the main site to see more information about ourselves, snapshot examples of previous media campaigns, artists’ music & interview videos, tracks on Soundcloud & Youtube, details regarding tours and events & information regarding the full range of services

At the very least you’ll get to hear some great music and watch some bangin hip hop videos !
