Cincinnati duo Buggs tha Rocka and Donte from the group MOOD – aka Space Invadaz – are currently in NYC promoting their new free album “Contact”.

Yesterday they appeared on Sway in the Morning and Toca Tuesdays, and will be special guests of DJ Bazarro on Beatminerz Radio today from 5pm EST. You can LISTEN LIVE HERE

The album, released through Talib Kweli’s Javotti Media Group, is available to stream and download from AUDIOMACK and DJ BOOTH It includes production by Hop Trax, Hi Tek and Jake One, and features Chuck Inglish, M1 and Talib himself who is also due to appear on the show today.

Cincinnati emcees Buggs tha Rocka and Donte from the group MOOD got together a couple years back to form the new group Space Invadaz.

They signed to Talib Kweli’s Javotti Media group imprint, Talib having strong historic links with the area from his own work with MOOD and of course another Cincy resident, Hi Tek.

To help launch the overall project, having just returned from performing at this year’s SXSW, the group’s debut release is the new free album “Contact” which is available to stream and download from AudioMack HERE and from DJ Booth HERE

Production comes from among others, Hop Trax, Hi Tek, Jake One and Buggs himself, with featured artists including Talib Kweli, Chuck Inglish and M1. Here’s the full tracklisting on the album’s back cover :

The duo will link up with Talib in NYC from 16th April where they will be meeting with various members of the press and appearing on various radio stations including Smokin Aces on Beatminerz, Sway in the Morning, Tony Touch’s Toca Tuesdays and DJ Bazarro’s World on Beatminerz.

From the album there have been two official videos released, Gun Show and Annunaki Rap

Crowned once again as “Hip Hop Artist of the Year” at last month’s Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, Buggs tha Rocka has just featured in the new issue of France’s “Hip Hop Breathe” magazine.

He discusses his latest album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” which released as a free download on 10th December 2014, and includes production by Sal Dali, Hop Trax, !llmind and Jake One with a wide array of featured artists including Tanya Morgan, Chuck Inglish, MOOD, Phoenix Aphrodite and Piakhan.

He also speaks on his future plans and the possibility of working with legendary producer Hi Tek, the artists who have influenced him the most over the years and the subject matters and various artistic outlets that inspire him the most.

Having finished 2014 on a high with the release of his critically acclaimed album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” on 10th December, Cincinnati’s Buggs tha Rocka has begun the new year in similar fashion.

He performed at the recent Cincinnati Entertainment Awards where he picked up the title of “Best Hip Hop Artist” for the second year running and has just been featured in two more international press publications

In the days leading up to the release of his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet”, Cincinnati’s Buggs tha Rocka sat down with US online Straight Fresh

The chopped it up about the making of the album and how a trip to Amsterdam in the summer of 2013 played a major role in its conception. He speaks on the comparisons made to the current release with previous mixtapes, including 2009’s “Hip Hop Supa Hero” with DJ Mick Boogie, and the concept behind “Scattered Thoughts….” allied to a series of video launches and the visual representation.

Subjects such as the eclectic range of influences prevelant in the album, the expectations of a live “Buggs tha Rocka Show” and plans for the future are also discussed before he gives his thoughts on the choice between remaining independent and signing to a major, and the repercussions of such a move.

They then delve into his come up in the Cincinnati scene, his link up with other local artists Donte from MOOD and Hi Tek, and ultimately his working with Talib Kweli.
