The latest review of the new album “Black Beach” by Detroit rapper ZotheJerk and eastcoast producer Frost Gamble has just been published in French online magazine “Sagi Hip Hop”.

Featuring KXNG Crooked, Guilty Simpson, Sadat X, Boldy James, Young Bleed and Tone Chop, the album released on May 26th through 22 Entertainment and is available to buy in digital format from a variety of stores including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Bandcamp where there is an exclusive Deluxe edition on offer including bonus cuts and free instrumentals.

Frost has recorded a new album “Respect Is Earned Not Given” with his old NY state sparring partner Tone Chop.

Releasing on September 29th, it includes guest featured artists Planet Asia, rap battling internet sensation DNA, Kool G Rap, Tragedy Khadafi and Canadian upcomer White Rhino. The first single from the album, “Walk the Walk” featuring Kool G Rap will release on June 30th.

The album is the follow up to the pair’s critically acclaimed “Veteran” EP released in November last year from which was taken the single “Leave It Alone”, a tribute to the late Sean P featuring Ruste Juxx and Nobi….give it a spin

Earlier this week, Detroit rapper ZotheJerk and Winnipeg based producer Frost Gamble spoke with French online In The Mood TV

In the new video interview published online today, the pair discuss the themes and concepts behind their new album “Black Beach” which releases on May 26th through 22 Entertainment.

With Zo having re-located to Ohio, he explains why he returned to Detroit for part of the recording process which took place at Mr Porter’s previous studio where Eminem’s “Infinite” was originally written, while Frost explains the influence being in the city had on his production approach to the album.

They also discuss how they first met and the logistical aspects of working together despite the distances involved, while Zo, who appeared in the film “8 Mile”, gives his thoughts on artists’ contribution to the local community given he received a “Humanitarian of the Year” award for mentoring work with youth projects.

Having just released their new EP “Veteran” on November 18th, NY State rapper Tone Chop and producer Frost Gamble, now relocated to Winnipeg, sat down with US online publication The Underground Hip Hop

In the new feature the pair discuss their earliest days and inspirations, and give the reasons why the new EP is a landmark in their careers to date. Having originally met at rap battles during the 90’s, the duo speak about longevity and determination as independent artists, and how they see their brand of hip hop sitting in future in such a diverse marketplace.

During the article they also mention the value they place on their loyal fanbase, and the lessons they’ve learned over the years within the industry as they plan ahead for a new album release in 2017.

Fair to say that 2016 will have proven to be a busy year for Long Beach hip hop crew Horseshoe Gang.

They released their new album “Anti-Trap Music” in April, the album immediately entering iTunes charts’ Top 50 in 15 countries with Amazon’s initial CD stock sold out in a day.

Their elder brother KXNG Crooked (aka Crooked I) had been developing a new talent show “One Shot” which is now due for first broadcast this month with the group featuring as judges, and in September a second limited edition album “4 Brothers” will be released, again through Seven 13 Entertainment.

Peter Johnstone from US online magazine Rhyme Junkie caught up with them recently to discuss their experience of the music industry, their views on trap music, the different lyrical styles each member brings to the group, the political content of tracks such as “Shoe-icide Squad” and what people can expect from “4 Brothers”.

Constant Deviants release their fifth official album “Omerta” tomorrow, Tuesday June 28th through their Six2Six Records imprint.

As they have done since establishing the label in 2009, the album will be distributed worldwide on vinyl as well as being made available digitally through their BANDCAMP

It’s a straight banger from start to finish. MC M.I. has been quoted recently as saying it is possibly the group’s best work to date, and certainly DJ Cutt’s production and turntablism is seriously on point. With M.I. now based in Baltimore and Miami, and DJ Cutt in New Jersey, “Omerta” is the first album for many years to be recorded by the duo while being in the same studio together.

Whether coincidental or otherwise, the results are stunning with the additional twist of adopting a theme throughout which draws on their Italian and Russian heritage.

The group are currently in NYC for a weeklong series of press and live radio interviews, which began last night when they dropped in on DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Outta Control on Sirius XM. Film footage shot by The Beeshine will be released to the internet soon.
