Been a busy few weeks for Cincinnati’s hip hop MC Buggs tha Rocka in the lead up to the release of his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet”.

He has been conducting interviews with many international magazines, blogs & websites, filming new videos, and performing at recent events. One such interview was with American online Embassy Interactive which has just been published today.

In this interview entitled “Train of Thought”, Buggs speaks on the origin of his stage name, the meting pot of different musical genres in Cincinnati and how it helps define the hip hop sound of the city, the concept behind the album, the experience of performing at this year’s A3C Festival in Atlanta, meeting Pharrell Williams at the Camp Flaw Gnog Festival recently in Los Angeles and outlines his highlights of 2014 and plans for 2015.

The pair also discussed his earliest influences and emergence from his days starting out as an artist to performing at events such as this year’s A3C Festival in Atlanta, his love of Japanese culture and animation, and he speaks on meaningful content and lyricism in hip hop today, and what inspires him to write

Having released previous mixtapes with Mac Miller’s tour dj, DJ Clockwork, “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” is Buggs first official album release for a number of years, but is the pre-cursor for a planned series of releases in 2015. In the past couple of months, the artist & album has generated widespread international media interest, the results of which you will see over the coming weeks and into the new year. One of the longest running onlines in the UK specializing in hip hop music, BritishHipHop.co.uk, jumped on the phone with award winning Cincinnati MC Buggs tha Rocka recently in the lead up to the release of his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” on 10th December

Speaking with the site’s Ethan Everton, Buggs spoke about his development from the early days to touring & performing at festivals with Talib Kweli, and how their relationship grew. He discusses the writing process for the new album, the various themes behind the concept and how he invited producers such as !llmind, Jake One, Sal Dali and Hop Trax, and featured artists Chuck Inglish, Tanya Morgan, Piakhan, MOOD to appear.

He then addresses his thoughts on life as an independent artist, whether in Ohio specifically or in the world of hip hop more generally, commenting on the effect the power of the internet now has and the predominance of lyricism compared to the mainstream.

Buggs has had a busy few weeks recently. He has just completed another series of interviews with various international press publications, and performed at A3C in Atlanta with Talib Kweli, the pair teaming up again with Hi Tek at the Reflection Eternal Reunion Show in Cincinnati, opening for Bone Thugs n Harmony and then performing with Mac Miller at the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles on 8th November.

Cincinnati’s Buggs tha Rocka jumped on Skype recently with the good folks over at New Zealand’s online “When Did You Fall In Love With Hip Hop” to talk about his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” and his development in the hip hop scene which has led him to be afforded the title “Best Hip Hop Artist of 2014” by the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards

They also discussed his live performances with Talib Kweli, whether at the A3C Festival for two years running or at the recent Eternal Reflection reunion show, the results of which are due to working with local pair Donte (MOOD) and Hi Tek from an early stage.

Buggs has of course released two previous mixtapes with Mac Miller’s tour DJ Clockwork, and he was invited to perform with the pair at the recent Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles which also saw sets by Pharrell Williams, Tyler the Creator, Rick Ross, Earl Sweatshirt, Murs, Action Bronson, Step Brothers, Vince Staples and many more

Releasing on 10th December 2014, the new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” by Cincinnati hip hop artist Buggs tha Rocka includes production by Hop Trax, Sal Dali, !llmind & Jake One, and a variety of featured artists including Tanya Morgan, Chuck Inglish, MOOD and Piakhan.

A total of 19 tracks appear on the release, and the UK’s online magazine Blacksheep has just run the rule over it.

Offered a 4 star rating, their contributor Andrew Kay opens “Refreshingly, the title of his album refers to the official skill of rapping: being a poet….the thing that strikes you is the astonishingly diverse production and changes in mood and atmosphere that occur from track to track. Scattered might be how he’s sprinkled his lyrics over affected beats, but the strategy works.”
