New single by Da Flyy Hooligan, “Distress Signals” produced by Agor features Long Island’s Hus Kingpin and is the second to be taken from the album “S.C.U.M.” releasing October 27th through 22 Entertainment whose back catalogue includes Royce da 5’9″, Fashawn, KXNG Crooked and Joe Budden.

Long established at the forefront of the UK’s burgeoning rap scene, DFH also spent time in NYC as part of J-Ronin’s “All Elements” clic and worked with US artists Sav Killz, Prince Po, Dead Prez, Hasan Salaam, D.V Alias Khryst and the late Sean P. The first single from the album “Savile Row” featured current Stateside luminary Westside Gunn, and speaking about the new release the north west London rapper commented :

NY State rapper and producer combo, Tone Chop & Frost Gamble, go all the way back to their days as rap battle rivals during the late 90’s before Frost re-located to Winnpeg, Canada and focused solely on beatmaking.

They released their first official collaborative project on November 18th last year, the “Veteran” EP being a warm up for their plans in 2017.

Binghamton’s DJ Gee Swift has just produced this banging remix of the entire EP and uploaded it to Mixcloud in the past couple of days. Check it out

Late last year, Winnipeg based producer Frost Gamble dropped by the Trendkill Productions studio to check in with local rap battle league Dragon Battlez.

The new video just published begins with the regular DBZ Hotbox Cypher, Frost Gamble providing the beat for local MC’s White Rhino, Bayle, CJ the Grey and Bangem – and those boys got skillz !

This is followed by an in depth interview with the beatmaker, discussing his relocation from Binghamton in NY state and his history there with rapper Tone Chop, the pair having just released their new EP “Veteran” in November

From the EP is the single “Leave It Alone”, a tribute to the late Sean Price featuring Ruste Juxx and Nobi, and Frost explains the concept behind the track and how it was put together before going into more detail about his signing with US label Seven 13 Music & entertainment and the plans for 2017.

Afforded a 7/10 rating in what is an in depth analysis, it outlines the qualities of Tone’s own lyricism complemeted by the various featured artists and acknowledges Frost Gamble’s “excellent job in creating a distinct sound for each track“.

The “Veteran” EP released on November 18th was the first official collaborative project by NY State rapper Tone Chop and Winnipeg based producer Frost Gamble.

This despite the fact the pair were originally rivals in Binghamton’s rap battle scene during the 90’s who would then go on to be partners in rhyme, tagging and remained hip hop allies over the years.

Though continuing to collaborate on occasional tracks, the pair pursued solo careers especially in the light of Frost’s relocation and subsequent re-focus on production. This led them to work individually with artists such as Tom Gist, J-Ro, Sadat-X, Jinx da Juvy and Rakim’s son Tahmell, however it was Frost’s contribution to Seven 13’s “God Bless Dope Rappers” compilation earlier this year which was the catalyst for the new EP

Also released through Seven 13 Music & Ent, “Veteran” is a warm up to a new album planned for 2017, and includes the single “Leave It Alone” featuring Ruste Juxx, a tribute to Sean Price.

In the lead up to the release of their new EP “Veteran”, NY State rapper Tone Chop and Winnipeg based producer Frost Gamble spoke with Chicago based journalist Sherron Shabazz, the editor of US online ‘The Real Hip Hop’.

The pair first met as rivals in Binghamton’s rap battle scene during the 90’s before eventually teaming up, however due to Frost’s re-location they then pursued solo careers while keeping in touch with the occasional collaboration.
