Released today, veteran Binghamton duo Tone Chop & Frost Gamble return with the third single from their highly anticipated new album “Beautiful Foundations”, a celebration of their partnership stretching back over 30 years, which drops on May 15th 2026 through New Dawn Records.

It’s all in the name with “The Smoothest” catching the vibe.  A tribute to the lyrical golden era of New York in a showcase of wordplay delivering a salvo of old and new school slang.  Chop’s trademark bullish bars and the effortless flows of fellow Upstate marksmen Decon Blu and Pa Pa Fresh dictate the narrative, the three re-united from their earlier Four Sportsmen project.

Driven along by the customary slick productions with Frost at the wheel, it’s a classic recipe.  Seasoned campaigners shelling rhymes with ease over a luscious beat immersed in soulful flavas and exquisite turntablism.  Done and dusted, the bragging rights are well earned.

Layers of classic boom bap hip hop beats underpin hard bars as the veteran rap battle champion goes on the hunt with a verbal salvo aimed at upcoming title contenders. Joining them on the mission is legendary turntablist DJ Eclipse, renowned for his work with Non Phixion, Ill Bill and ongoing Fat Beats ambassador. Back at it again, Brick City’s Tru Trilla returns today with the AA side single “Respectfully”, lifted from last year’s album ‘XVI : Return of the Gods’ released through New Dawn Records.

Laced throughout with the kind of bullish bars and beats which earned it a front page spotlight on Bandcamp, the New Jersey veteran assembled a heavyweight line up of guest featured artists and producers to deliver a classic soundtrack fuelled by the highest calibre lyrical firepower.

Produced by Frost Gamble, the latest cut is a further testament to the levels.  Tru drops knowledge with Brooklyn’s Justo the MC and Floridian NapsNdreds in another showcase of dexterous rhymes and slick flows by verbal marksmen at the height of their game.  The narrative is reinforced by the “Qataban Remix” courtesy of label affiliate Shahin, flipping the script with an intense fusion of strings, breaks and sub Saharan flavas that hits differently.

New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla dropped his banging new album “XVI : Return of the Gods” through New Dawn Records on May 31st.

Immediately featured by Bandcamp on their front page ‘New and Notable’ spotlight section, the release is fuelled by a diverse and potent soundtrack laced with the full artillery.  Bolstered by a stellar line up of producers and guest featured artists from around the States and beyond, the result is a series of cuts delivering the best of traditions through twelve gauge bars, beats and turntablism.

From it is the new single “Drop Jewels”.  Produced by prolific beatmaker and turntablist DJ Tone Spliff, the joint released today features fellow Newark native and Jersey Gore group member Prince Ak alongside Brownsville’s lyrical warrior Juxx Diamondz.  In addition, the new “I-71” remix is provided courtesy of NDR affiliate Qadir who channels his inner Schifrin for a different take with a filmic twist.

Veteran NY State producer Frost Gamble fans the flames coast to coast like butta’ on toast. Unleashed on the beat, Tru trades robust verbal blows with Brooklyn’s Ruste Juxx before Shoe Gang member Julius Luciano gets in on the action. To mark the fifth anniversary since re-launching in 2019, New Dawn Records have today released the new single “No Joking Around” by New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla.

Following last month’s ‘Sun Rays’ featuring Reks and Lakim Shabazz, this is the second to be taken from the forthcoming album “XVI : Return of the Gods” out in May.

On the new cut, the Brick City veteran has recruited another Garden State native in the form of Jamal Nueve, originally affiliated with the legendary Flavor Unit crew as DJ Jamal #9. Now resident in California, the multi credited producer has delivered a funk fuelled banger laced with ferocious bars from lyrical marksmen in the heavyweight division.

The gloves are off as Boston’s Flash and V Knuckles of N.B.S. join Tru and Recognize Ali on the rampage, exchanging trademark punchlines as combinations thrown in a barrage of body blows to would be contenders. Rugged and uncompromising, high frequency lyrics with no prisoners taken, the result is undisputed.

Released today, new single “Fine Line” by Brooklyn rapper Justo the MC and Edinburgh producer Brelstaff, taken from the album ‘Urban Testimony’ which released on November 3rd through New Dawn Records and has just been featured on Bandcamp’s front page New & Notable spotlight section.

The album’s entire theme depicts events leading up to, during and following Justo’s curtailed and troubled time studying at Clark Atlanta University some years ago, and the future chosen with lessons learned.  “Fine Line” documents a conflicted mind, weighed down by the expectations derived from a background of faith while straying from the path of opportunity in a rueful narrative.

Brelstaff’s atmospheric soundtrack cuts deep into the concept, and was first broadcast on BBC Radio 1’s Focus Beats programme during the summer.
