Released today, “Play No Games” is the second single to be taken from the album “Beautiful Foundations” by New York State rapper and producer duo Tone Chop and Frost Gamble, out through New Dawn Records on May 15th.

Layers of classic boom bap hip hop beats underpin hard bars as the veteran rap battle champion goes on the hunt with a verbal salvo aimed at upcoming title contenders. Joining them on the mission is legendary turntablist DJ Eclipse, renowned for his work with Non Phixion, Ill Bill and ongoing Fat Beats ambassador. Still flying the flag high and representing the dopest new underground bangers with his Rap Is Outta Control Show on Shade 45, the cutting skills on this joint are typically off the scale, stoking the fires further in a fusion of gritty authentic heat.

Knockout punchlines in a heavyweight bout for the heads, this also marks the label’s first release during their 30th anniversary year.   Slick business from the Binghamton boys, dial it up to the max.

Available to stream and download from a multitude of digital platforms and stores including APPLE, TIDAL and below on Bandcamp and Spotify

The official video is also now playing on Youtube

New York State rapper & producer duo Tone Chop & Frost Gamble celebrate their three decades of working together with the release of the new album “Beautiful Foundations” on May 15th 2026 through New Dawn Records.

From the early days of recording demos in their Binghamton basement to becoming one of the most prolific partnerships in recent years with a quite phenomenal back catalogue of singles and EP’s in their armoury, the landmark release documents their journey and pays homage to the close bond built between the pair.

Immersed in hip hop culture from their teenage years, the album reflects their dedication to the true essence while embracing evolution.  Chop’s trademark hard bars, a legacy of his rap battle days, and Frost’s dynamic range of beats are bolstered throughout by a generous helping of turntablism courtesy of DJ Eclipse, Pa Pa Fresh and  DJ J Smooth.  Space is reserved for friends and allies by way of the special guest featured artists including The Bad Seed, Pf Cuttin, Decon Blu, Grea8gawd and Fresh I.E.

Released today, the first offering is the single edition of the title track featuring another native of “The Bing” Will K.  Chop sets the agenda reflecting on those first times working together as young and passionate kids still learning the ropes, sowing seeds for the future set to a potent soundtrack marinated with soul. It’s something you live…

October 24th 2025

Hip Hop label New Dawn Records have today announced that they will be releasing the new album “Beautiful Foundations” by New York State rapper and producer duo Tone Chop & Frost Gamble on May 15th 2026.

We first worked with the pair back in 2016 when they released their “Veteran EP”, then again the following year for their album “Respect is Earned Not Given”.

They enjoyed extensive media coverage worldwide for these releases, culminating in an appearance on DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Outta Control Show on Sirius XM

This kick started a phase which has seen them become one of the most prolifc partnerships in recent years, with a quite outstanding back catalogue of singles and EP in their armoury.

The new album is a celebration of their friendship and working together for over three decades, and coincidentally will be released during the label’s own 30th anniversary year. It features many new upcoming artists from their hometown Binghamton together with those they’ve built with over the years.

Included are DJ Eclipse, Pf Cuttin, DJ J Smooth, Decon Blu, Pa Pa Fresh, The Bad Seed, Fresh I.E and The Bad Seed

The pair have also just completed filming a new documentary about their time together, from the earliest days of recording in their basement during the 90’s right up to the present day. We’ve had the fortune to have an advanced viewing and it’s a fascinating insight not only about their own story, but the development of hip hop itself over the years. Look out for that premiering just after the album releases next year.

For an early taste showcasing the quality of rhymes, beats and turntablism on display throughout the album, the label has just published an official video trailer on their Youtube channel.

Several singles will precede the album’s release, beginning with a special single edition of the title track on December 9th. All will be available to download and stream on digital platforms including Apple, Bandcamp, Spotify, Tidal and Amazon, while official visuals will continue to be published on the label’s Youtube channel.

We are the label’s in house promotional division, so all press, media and radio DJ inquiries about the release can be sent to us, our details available at our CONTACT PAGE. The full official album press release can be read HERE

Back at it again, Brick City’s Tru Trilla returns today with the AA side single “Respectfully”, lifted from last year’s album ‘XVI : Return of the Gods’ released through New Dawn Records.

Laced throughout with the kind of bullish bars and beats which earned it a front page spotlight on Bandcamp, the New Jersey veteran assembled a heavyweight line up of guest featured artists and producers to deliver a classic soundtrack fuelled by the highest calibre lyrical firepower.

Produced by Frost Gamble, the latest cut is a further testament to the levels.  Tru drops knowledge with Brooklyn’s Justo the MC and Floridian NapsNdreds in another showcase of dexterous rhymes and slick flows by verbal marksmen at the height of their game.  The narrative is reinforced by the “Qataban Remix” courtesy of label affiliate Shahin, flipping the script with an intense fusion of strings, breaks and sub Saharan flavas that hits differently.

Available to stream on and download on multiple digital platforms including APPLE MUSIC / iTUNES, AMAZON, TIDAL MUSIC and below on BANDCAMP & SPOTIFY

There is also a brand new official video for the “Qataban Remix” just premiered on the label’s Youtube channel

Released today on New Dawn Records’ official Youtube channel, the new video “Qataban” produced by Shahin.

The soundtrack is the extended instrumental version of a remix for a forthcoming single release, but the beatmaker insisted it should be used as a sequel to his previous release “Anuket” which followed the similar theme in offering a message of solidarity and support to women and girls bravely fighting for their rights against oppressive and brutal regimes, and to those suffering at the hands of domestic & mental abuse all around the world.

Shahin addedOur warrior queens are magnificent and will have their justice. Your struggles have not been forgotten, you are still seen. You will prevail.

New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla dropped his banging new album “XVI : Return of the Gods” through New Dawn Records on May 31st.

Immediately featured by Bandcamp on their front page ‘New and Notable’ spotlight section, the release is fuelled by a diverse and potent soundtrack laced with the full artillery.  Bolstered by a stellar line up of producers and guest featured artists from around the States and beyond, the result is a series of cuts delivering the best of traditions through twelve gauge bars, beats and turntablism.

From it is the new single “Drop Jewels”.  Produced by prolific beatmaker and turntablist DJ Tone Spliff, the joint released today features fellow Newark native and Jersey Gore group member Prince Ak alongside Brownsville’s lyrical warrior Juxx Diamondz.  In addition, the new “I-71” remix is provided courtesy of NDR affiliate Qadir who channels his inner Schifrin for a different take with a filmic twist.

More heat released today from New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla, “End the Day” is the third single taken from his album ‘XVI : Return of the Gods’ out through New Dawn Records on May 31st.

Like its predecessors ‘Sun Rays’ ft Reks & Lakim Shabazz, and ‘No Joking Around’ ft NB.S. & Recognize Ali, the new joint packs a ferocious punch with another salvo of raw energy for the senses.

Veteran NY State producer Frost Gamble fans the flames coast to coast like butta’ on toast. Unleashed on the beat, Tru trades robust verbal blows with Brooklyn’s Ruste Juxx before Shoe Gang member Julius Luciano gets in on the action. It’s standard family business for the brother of KXNG Crooked, as the west coast warrior duly plants the Long Beach flag through a barrage of bars delivered at breakneck speed.

Straight fire from lyrical assassins at the height of their powers, rhymes dispensed out the chamber with no quarter given, the skills are clinical. Twelve gauge levels, bodied it….

Released today, new single “Fine Line” by Brooklyn rapper Justo the MC and Edinburgh producer Brelstaff, taken from the album ‘Urban Testimony’ which released on November 3rd through New Dawn Records and has just been featured on Bandcamp’s front page New & Notable spotlight section.

The album’s entire theme depicts events leading up to, during and following Justo’s curtailed and troubled time studying at Clark Atlanta University some years ago, and the future chosen with lessons learned.  “Fine Line” documents a conflicted mind, weighed down by the expectations derived from a background of faith while straying from the path of opportunity in a rueful narrative.

Brelstaff’s atmospheric soundtrack cuts deep into the concept, and was first broadcast on BBC Radio 1’s Focus Beats programme during the summer.

Out today through New Dawn Records, “Lazy Eye” is taken from the newly released album ‘Cautionary Tales’ by Ithacan rapper Anthony Kannon and east coast producer Frost Gamble, and includes a special additional remix featuring new Griselda Records signing Brother Tom SOS from Buffalo.

While Frost is on the boards for both versions, the beats are switched up and hit differently.  The grimy skewed rhythms of the atmospheric original are reworked as an electro boom bap slammer for the lyrical duo to deliver the high caliber rhyme skills and wordplay which has earned them the reputation as two of the hottest new talents to emerge from upstate New York in recent times.

Available on Apple / iTunes, Tidal, Amazon and below on Bandcamp and Spotify

There are also two separate official videos playing on the label’s Youtube channel

The “Cautionary Tales” album release show takes place this Saturday November 18th at Deep Dive in Ithaca where Anthony will perform the entire album with a live band.  Among the special guests on the night is Brooklyn’s Justo the MC who will be showcasing tracks from his new album “Urban Testimony”, while Frost will be spinning a DJ set.
