New video released today, “Enough” appears on the alnum ‘Beautiful Foundations’ by New York State rapper & producer duo Tone Chop and Frost Gamble, released through New Dawn Records on May 15th.

Featuring fellow Binghamton native Doc Holiday, it’s a sobering account of an all too familiar issue experienced in most towns and cities. The lyricism is on point as Chop reflects on the devastating effects Class A addiction has had on his community, and particularly as a father himself, the young lives left in ruins.

The rage against heroin, meth and those who peddle for profit is a measured retaliation against the destruction caused by the few, yet felt by the many. Impeccable social commentary from the veteran wordsmith, the video also ends with a helpline to call for anyone affected by the issues addressed.

Also featuring Grea8gawd, The Bad Seed, DJ Eclipse, PF Cuttin, Decon Blu and Pa Pa Fresh, the album is available on Bandcamp and Spotify, plus there is an official playlist on Youtube which includes visuals for the singles released ahead of the album.

A landmark release for the pair marking their working together for over three decades, they continue the celebrations this coming Saturday May 30th with their special album launch event.

It takes place at The Stellar Human vintage clothing store situated at 159 Washington Street, Binghamton. Beginning at 6pm, entry is free and will include an album listening session, artist discussion on making the album with q&a, and a screening of their autobiographical documentary which was first premiered on Youtube last week.

All are invited to drop by in what will be a relaxed and informal environment to join in with the celebrations. Chill vibes, good company and dope music. Enjoy !

A celebration of their own partnership stretching over three decades, the album includes those with whom they’ve built over the years by way of the specially invited guest featured artists, all of whom add to a showcase of the highest caliber rhyme skills, beats and turntablism.

Hip Hop label New Dawn Records have today announced that they will be releasing the new album “Beautiful Foundations” by New York State rapper and producer duo Tone Chop & Frost Gamble on May 15th 2026.

We first worked with the pair back in 2016 when they released their “Veteran EP”, then again the following year for their album “Respect is Earned Not Given”.

They enjoyed extensive media coverage worldwide for these releases, culminating in an appearance on DJ Eclipse’s Rap Is Outta Control Show on Sirius XM

This kick started a phase which has seen them become one of the most prolifc partnerships in recent years, with a quite outstanding back catalogue of singles and EP in their armoury.

The new album is a celebration of their friendship and working together for over three decades, and coincidentally will be released during the label’s own 30th anniversary year. It features many new upcoming artists from their hometown Binghamton together with those they’ve built with over the years.

Included are DJ Eclipse, Pf Cuttin, DJ J Smooth, Decon Blu, Pa Pa Fresh, The Bad Seed, Fresh I.E and The Bad Seed

The pair have also just completed filming a new documentary about their time together, from the earliest days of recording in their basement during the 90’s right up to the present day. We’ve had the fortune to have an advanced viewing and it’s a fascinating insight not only about their own story, but the development of hip hop itself over the years. Look out for that premiering just after the album releases next year.

Several singles will precede the album’s release, beginning with a special single edition of the title track on December 9th. Back at it again, Brick City’s Tru Trilla returns today with the AA side single “Respectfully”, lifted from last year’s album ‘XVI : Return of the Gods’ released through New Dawn Records.

Laced throughout with the kind of bullish bars and beats which earned it a front page spotlight on Bandcamp, the New Jersey veteran assembled a heavyweight line up of guest featured artists and producers to deliver a classic soundtrack fuelled by the highest calibre lyrical firepower.

Produced by Frost Gamble, the latest cut is a further testament to the levels.  Tru drops knowledge with Brooklyn’s Justo the MC and Floridian NapsNdreds in another showcase of dexterous rhymes and slick flows by verbal marksmen at the height of their game.  The narrative is reinforced by the “Qataban Remix” courtesy of label affiliate Shahin, flipping the script with an intense fusion of strings, breaks and sub Saharan flavas that hits differently.

New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla dropped his banging new album “XVI : Return of the Gods” through New Dawn Records on May 31st.

Immediately featured by Bandcamp on their front page ‘New and Notable’ spotlight section, the release is fuelled by a diverse and potent soundtrack laced with the full artillery.  Bolstered by a stellar line up of producers and guest featured artists from around the States and beyond, the result is a series of cuts delivering the best of traditions through twelve gauge bars, beats and turntablism.

To mark the fifth anniversary since re-launching in 2019, New Dawn Records have today released the new single “No Joking Around” by New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla.

Following last month’s ‘Sun Rays’ featuring Reks and Lakim Shabazz, this is the second to be taken from the forthcoming album “XVI : Return of the Gods” out in May.

On the new cut, the Brick City veteran has recruited another Garden State native in the form of Jamal Nueve, originally affiliated with the legendary Flavor Unit crew as DJ Jamal #9. Now resident in California, the multi credited producer has delivered a funk fuelled banger laced with ferocious bars from lyrical marksmen in the heavyweight division.

The gloves are off as Boston’s Flash and V Knuckles of N.B.S. join Tru and Recognize Ali on the rampage, exchanging trademark punchlines as combinations thrown in a barrage of body blows to would be contenders. Rugged and uncompromising, high frequency lyrics with no prisoners taken, the result is undisputed.
