Latest feature on Cincinnati MC Buggs tha Rocka comes courtesy of the British online multi genre publication God is in the TV

Their contributor Taytula Burke jumped on the phone recently with the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards’ “Hip Hop Artist of 2014” to discuss his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” which releases on 10th December, and includes production by !llmind, Jake One, Hop Trax, Sal Dali and Kill Will, and features Tanya Morgan, Chuck Inglish, Phoenix Aphrodite, MOOD, Piakhan and Aida Chakra.

The pair also discussed his earliest influences and emergence from his days starting out as an artist to performing at events such as this year’s A3C Festival in Atlanta, his love of Japanese culture and animation, and he speaks on meaningful content and lyricism in hip hop today, and what inspires him to write

Having released previous mixtapes with Mac Miller’s tour dj, DJ Clockwork, “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” is Buggs first official album release for a number of years, but is the pre-cursor for a planned series of releases in 2015. As such, it will be made available as a free download from www.buggstharocka.com on 10th December. In the past couple of months, the artist & album has generated widespread international media interest, the results of which you will see over the coming weeks and into the new year. There will also be further visuals launched soon taken from the project.

Releasing on 10th December 2014, the new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” by Cincinnati hip hop artist Buggs tha Rocka includes production by Hop Trax, Sal Dali, !llmind & Jake One, and a variety of featured artists including Tanya Morgan, Chuck Inglish, MOOD and Piakhan.

A total of 19 tracks appear on the release, and the UK’s online magazine Blacksheep has just run the rule over it.

Offered a 4 star rating, their contributor Andrew Kay opens “Refreshingly, the title of his album refers to the official skill of rapping: being a poet….the thing that strikes you is the astonishingly diverse production and changes in mood and atmosphere that occur from track to track. Scattered might be how he’s sprinkled his lyrics over affected beats, but the strategy works.”

In what was an enthusiastic & fun exchange of views, the pair spoke about his writing process….and the key role Fiji Water, Monster Energy Drink & chicken plays in the pre-studio process!….the construction of the album and reasons for working with a core group of producers this time around, the thinking behind the album’s title and how it represents where he feels he is as an MC now.

They also discussed how the influence of not only Royce da 5’9″ but all 3 of his brothers played when he started our rapping and how that came about, his views on the depiction of hip hop today and why he feels “Hip Hop lost its respect, its pride, its honor.
