British online publication Flavour Magazine jumped on the phone last week with Detroit’s Kid Vishis in the lead up to the release of his debut album “Timing is Everything” on 22nd July 2014.

Their contributor Laionie Buchanan spoke with him about a range of subjects including why the time is right to release his first album now and the message he wants to convey to the world, he speaks on the hard work and dedication it has taken and continues to take to progress a career in music and his plans to perform in the UK

Detroit MC Kid Vishis has had a busy time recently, speaking with various members of the international media & press in the lead up to the release of his debut album “Timing is Everything” on 22nd July 2014.

Two of these have just been published recently, the first of which is with British online multi genre magazine AAA Music.

In this interview, part of their AAA Approved series, they ask him about what first inspired him to first pick up the mic and his releases and tours to date. They also talk about artists he’s feeling now, what unique qualities he brings to the game and his aspirations for the future.

British magazine Blues & Soul have just published their June / July edition which is available in some selected stores now.

They are the latest to give a full endorsement to the debut album by Detroit’s Kid Vishis, “Timing is Everything”, out 22nd July 2014 on Seven 13 Entertainment. The review appears on page 32, (the publication prefer it is not re-produced in full here) but if you wanted to read the full version try tracking down a copy from your local store first of all.

The younger brother of Royce da 5 9 has produced a number of mixtapes in the past as part of the “Sick ‘Em” series, and toured internationally. The first official studio album has been long awaited, and as the 5 star review by Simon Redley reflects “This is a landmark release, a fantastic calling card to tell the world he has arrived and is here to stay. London’s Apex Zero prepares for his Reality Provoking Liberation album launch party with the release of this brand new joint straight out the lab, “Transcendental Emcee”.

The debut solo album was released to wide critical acclaim on 28th October, and this new track brings a lil’ different flava courtesy of Frank Freeman’s production, while Apex displays his trademark skilled wordplay and lyricism

The launch event takes place this Saturday, 7th December, upstairs at The Vibe Bar, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. Having already performed an exclusive freestyle video for leading British online hip hop site UKHH.COM some weeks ago, their contributor Ethan Everton has also now reviewed the album Reality Provoking Liberation which released on 28th October.

The article is yet another endorsement among many publications who have covered the release in the past couple of months, opening “Potentially the rawest truths that you’ll hear on record for the remainder of the year, the philosophies behind the wordplay in Apex Zero’s almost entirely self-produced début album Reality Provoking Liberation is if anything a reflective experience for any listener.”

It is in fact a very in depth appraisal of the album, delving into the finer points of the tracks and is summarized “As stated at the beginning, this is more than an just album to muse too. It’s intention is to bring about a new mentally aware consciousness that’s being prohibited in ways unimaginable.”

This latest coverage comes at the beginning of the week which finally leads up to the long awaited album launch party event. It takes place this Saturday, 7th December, from 8pm – 1am upstairs at The Vibe Bar, 91 Brick Lane, Shoreditch, London E1 6QL.

Apex has been busy in recent weeks fine tuning his set which will be performed with a live band. Also performing on the night will be Caxton Press & Triple Darkness member Iron Braydz. Itch FM’s DJ A. Gee will be on the 1’s & 2’s with Peaches the regular Hoochinoo host. Detroit’s Kid Vishis has just released the first single from his debut album which is due for release in March 2014 on Seven 13 Music.

The younger brother of Royce da 5 9 is no novice having started out in the city’s open mic circuit over 10 years ago, and first dropped some verses on the M.I.C. Vol 1 mixtape in 2003. Over the past 10 years he has toured the States, Canada and Europe with D12, Slaughterhouse and performed at shows with Slum Village, Rakim, Ghostface, Talib Kweli and Slick Rick.

Honing his craft live to international audiences and releasing multiple mixtapes including the “Sick ‘Em” series, as well as appearing on Royce’s albums “Street Hop” & “Success is Certain”, Kid Vishis has become one of the most respected lyricists of the next generation, and the album one of the most eagerly anticipated for many years. Apex Zero celebrates the release of his debut solo album “Reality Provoking Liberation” with his launch party upstairs at The Vibe Bar on Saturday 7th December 2013.

Live performances are a specialty for the young rapper & producer, having been a regular at the city’s renowned End of the Weak and Speaker’s Corner events as part of the duo First and Last, and also gained a following for the high energy shows put on as part of the group The Pantheonz of Zenn – La.

Apex plans appearing with a live band to perform tracks off the new album which releases on 28th October. Also performing on the night will be Caxton Press & the latest member of Triple Darkness, Iron Braydz. Spinnin the vinyl will be Itch FM’s DJ A.Gee and the event will be hosted by Peaches. The event has been put together by local live promoter Hoochinoo. This event has of course been re-scheduled from the original date of 2nd November.

There will also be freestyle open mic sessions in what’s shaping up to be a great night of hip hop with some of the hottest talent in the city, definitely not one to be missed!

The night runs from 8pm – 1am, £5.00 on the door and this is an age 18 and over event.
