West coast rap group Horseshoe Gang released their fourth studio album “Anti-Trap Music” today through Seven 13 Music & Entertainment, and made an immediate and impressive impact.

Available on iTunes HERE the online digital store made the album one of their select few featured album releases for 29th April. Within hours it reached #46 in the US charts, and #54 in the UK. It has subsequently risen again in the past few hours

Meanwhile, we can officially confirm that Amazon’s considerable initial CD stock of the album sold out in the first hour of its release but is being replenished now.

It’s a testament to Horseshoe Gang’s extensive army of international fans, and both the group and their label are highly appreciative of this tremendous level of support.

With just over 3 weeks to go until the release of their new album on April 29th, another feature has just been published on west coast hip hop group Horseshoe Gang.

This time, the UK’s online magazine Guestlist Network discuss the meaning behind the album’s title “Anti-Trap Music”, and the influence growing up in Long Beach has played in their approach to rap music. They also discuss the political situation in the States and the representation of that in their rhymes while naming the musical and historical figures who have been their main inspirations.

Recently, west coast hip hop group Horseshoe Gang chopped it up with Joe Blakk & Mr Caypre on High End Radio which broadcasts through the Siccness Radio network.

The crew spoke about the COB (Circle of Bosses) movement started by their elder brother KXNG Crooked before addressing their tag as “the new saviours of the west coast” as part of the discussion on the loss of real lyricism in hip hop, and those artists who are bringing it back on the agenda.

The show’s hosts addressed the track “Why Men Cheat” from the group’s debut album “Gangsta MC” and their reputation over the years of talking about all forms of real life issues, before the subject moved to cyphers.

When asked whether they thought Fetty Wap, Young Thug, Future and Rich Homie Quan could go toe to toe in a cypher, Horseshoe Gang threw the doors open and laid down a challenge to allcomers to take ’em on before finishing the interview with Julius launching into a fierce 16 bar freestyle

In this new exclusive interview, Stanley Florence from west coast online Raw Hip Hop Headz spoke with Long Beach crew Horseshoe Gang in the lead up to the release of their fourth studio album “Anti-Trap Music” on April 29th 2016

The group who are all blood brothers begin by talking about how their’s was a musical household as their mother and aunt were singers signed to a label in the 70’s. Subsequently, they explain how their initial steps towards becoming rappers were taken under the tutelage of their elder brother KXNG Crooked when from as early an age as 5 years old they were given rhymes to learn.

Influenced by artists including NWA, Tupac, Rakim and Jay-Z they speak about the advantage of having a special chemistry given their background and their aim to put more substance back into hip hop lyricism.

While acknowledging the role Kendrick Lamar and J Cole have played in re-establishing the craft, and indeed some who have helped bring the west back into focus, they explain more needs to be done, movements created, established and underground artists working together in unity to finally tip the scales.

The interview is then wrapped up as they discuss their tour with KXNG Crooked and Rittz last year, their well documented rap battle with Hopsin’s Funk Volume and of course, the album “Anti-Trap Music”.

The veteran duo are currently in the early stages of filming a new movie and recording a follow up release which may be out before the end of the year. In the meantime, they will be releasing a new single and launching the final episode of their “3Stylez” video series over the next few weeks

In April they released two bonus cuts which were recorded between their last album Diamond and Avant Garde. Although neither “Just Make Music” or “Thinkin” feature on any of their official releases as yet, they may appear on a special edition planned for sometime in the future given the reaction they’re currently receiving from DJs.
