Younger brother of Slaughterhouse member Royce da 5 9, Detroit’s Kid Vishis releases his debut album “Timing is Everything” on 22nd July. Out on Seven 13 Entertainment, it includes production by Mr Porter, Chase Moore (Hippie Sabotage), Nemisis & Nick Zervos and can be pre-ordered with autographed merchandise from www.seven13ent.com
US online Rap Essence are the latest to run the rule over the album, with a track by track analysis which is then summarized :
“Kid Vishis really impressed me on here. He changes up the topics and subject matter on almost every song, while still coming with aggressive rhymes and boastful battle raps at the same time. This keeps the album feeling fresh and gives each of the songs its own unique identity, which is something that is missing from a lot of hip-hop albums nowadays”
Prior to the album releasing, he is also due to launch a new mixtape which will consist of original tracks only, so look out for a number of audio & official video releases over the next few months as well as widespread international media coverage throughout the summer.
Meanwhile, keep in touch with him on twitter @KidVishis and check out his single Heaven produced by New Jersey producer Nemisis

With only a couple of days to go until the release of the sophomore album by Kansas base MC Matt Maddox, renowned Stateside online magazine Dead End Hip Hop are the latest to run the rule over “Righteous Fury”
Their contributor Samuel Odunsi Jr pays tribute to the essence of the album which is “hearkening back to the earlier days of hip hop that boasted raw lyricism over everything else” and concludes If you miss that raw, old-school hip hop sound I strongly recommend you give this 19-track project a listen. It’ll leave you more than satisfied You can read the entire article HERE
Artists such as Matt Maddox have retained a global market over the years as while many of us remember the sound of decades gone by, new generations not as readily exposed to it on the network channels have discovered the classics in clubs and the internet. For them, it’s “new”, and has qualities not as prevalent elsewhere. Hip Hop and rap music has developed and diversified over the years as happens with every genre. Those who draw from the elements of the Golden Era are not themselves stuck in the 90’s. They have developed that style to the contemporary version they produce today. Everything comes from somewhere, there are differences, one thing is not another, but neither is one thing necessarily “better”than another – the public pays its money & takes its choice.
It’s thanks to artists such as Matt Maddox and many more the world over that a younger generation realize they have a choice

They are the latest to give closer inspection to the new album “Righteous Fury” by hip hop MC Matt Maddox. His sophomore solo release following Asylum Artistry (2010), the ex Guerilla War Tactix member brings the classic west coast hip hop values to the table, unsurprisingly given his origins in Long Beach California. Now based in Kansas in the heart of America’s MidWest, the rapper calls on some choice production skills from Nemesis, Vanderslice, C Lance, Sicknature & Skammadix over which he lays down some serious lyricism and rhyme skills.
Joined on the mic on feature duties by such notables as Tragedy Khadafi, Reef The Lost Cauze, Adlib, Edd Bundy and King Magnetic, the album is also laced with quality turntablism with the scratches & cuts courtesy of the UK’s DJ TMB.
