Ohio’s Copywrite releases his new album, God Save The King (Proper English Version) on 15th May 2012 on Man Bites Dog Records.
The album includes features by some of the hottest MCs from the UK and USA, including London’s Genesis Elijah, Iron Braydz and Mystro who also appear together in this latest video. “Royal Flush” is a special bonus track put together to celebrate the international flavour of the album.
Copywrite, Genesis Elijah, Mystro and Iron Braydz all go in hard over New York producer Dub Sonata’s beat, four MCs on top of their game delivering their own trademark punchlines and metaphors. The video was shot on location in Ohio and west London & has its UK TV debut airing on Flava TV (Channel 367) on Saturday 21st April.

Been over a year in the making, but the long awaited release of the new album by Ohio’s Copywrite has finally arrived.
The Columbus based MC first came to the attention of the hip hop world as a founder member of the group Megahertz. His work with producers RJD2, J-Dilla, Cool & Dre, Illmind and early collaborations with Royce da 5 9, Killah Priest, Sean Price and Dilated Peoples soon established his position on the international scene through a series of releases including “The High Exhaulted”, “Ultrasound” and “The Life and Times of Peter Nelson”.
With a reputation as a battle – hardened MC with punchlines for days, and fresh from picking up the “Best Lyricist” title at The Ohio Hip Hop Awards in late 2011, Copywrite has delivered an exceptional album. The title is part inspired by the features on this record with some of the best that the UK and US have to offer standing shoulder to shoulder over 17 tracks.
Inspired by previous collaborations with UK artists Rhyme Asylum, Loudmouth Melvin, Skillit and Sam Khan, he began work on what he describes as “his best release to date” from February 2011. The monumental task of constructing an album truly representative of the Trans Atlantic hip hop community would of course take time to complete, but the result has been well worth the wait.

In the main produced by MBD labelmates Kount Fif and Jason Rose, it has features from Killah Pries, Roc Marciano, Planet Asia, Cappadonna, U-God, Outerspace, C Rayz Walz, Royce da 5 9, Inspectah Deck, Heltah Skeltah and many more.
Album is released on 27th March and there will be a further series of singles and videos over the coming months.
“Early 90’s” is produced by Kount Fif whose credits include Killah Priest’s “Gun 4 Gun” ft Nas, and on this track he’s joined by New York’s Double A.B., Karniege and Torae, the latter having just dropped “For The Record” produced by DJ Premier.
The single reflects the overall motive behind the album, a tribute to hip hop’s “Golden Era”. The LP is rammed full of bangin beats matched with some fierce rhyme skills and flows, and is definitely one for the fans of the “tru skool”
Earning his reputation initially in the Australian homegrown scene with artists such as Bliss & Eso, producer M-Phazes went on to produce for internationally renowned stars such as Talib Kweli on Gutter Rainbows, the tracks Clap, Assassins and One Day ft Jill Scott for Pharoahe Monch, and Back on the Scene for Shady’s supergroup Slaughterhouse.
In 2010 he released his debut album “Good Gracious” featuring the cream of Australian hiphop which received global recognition
In October this year it was announced that he was collaborating with DJ Rhettmatic on a new remix album, to be called “Phazed Out” which will feature Big Noyd, Inspectah Deck, Termanology, Heltah Skeltah, Sadat X and many more, due for a 2012 release on Coalmine Records. Emilio Rojas current single Middle Finger was also produced by him
He has worked with several UK artists over the years, most recently Sonnyjim, and was in the UK for a few days recently where he gave this interview to well regarded online Hip Hop Kings.

This will also be a platform for artists & labels, most likely involved in hiphop, rap, r&b, soul or any other form of “urban” music who we may not be directly involved with, but we like, to have their videos or tracks uploaded. Any artists interested in having their material or details of events added should check the site first, all the contact details are there.
As a taster, we have uploaded some examples, including a rare interview with Souls of Mischief & Sarah Love & “tour stories” from their time in the UK supporting the release of the album Montezuma’s Revenge, when we took D12 to meet Tim Westwood & news of their tour last year & dates in the Uk this year, and some other videos of Stateside & UK artists such as Copywrite, Vast Aire, Supar Novar, Depprooted & we’ll be adding more soon. Ohio’s Copywrite drops this banger “PYT” with the UK’s Loudmouth Melvin and Skillit as a pre-cursor to his new album “God Save The King”, due out late autumn on Man Bites Dog Records. The track produced by Kount Fif also features Jay Notes.
He started out in the game in 1998 as part of the still current group Mhz, and became known for working with producers RJD2 on The High Exhaulted, Jay Zone & Jay Dilla on Cruise Control and featured with the UK’s Rhyme Asylum in 2007. He’s earned the reputation in the States as a battle hardened MC with punchlines for days, and spent the past year putting together the new solo album as well as the new Mhz album “Megacy” due out 2012.
