Long Beach hip hop crew Horseshoe Gang, the younger brothers of Slaughterhouse member KXNG Crooked, release their fourth official studio album “Anti-Trap Music” later this week, on Friday April 29th.

The album includes production by COB affiliates Jonathan Elkaer, DJ E.D.D.E.H., Tabu and Grammy Award winners Pitchshifters together with a feature and further production by their elder brother. The west coast lyricists touch upon a wide range of subject matter including poverty & aspirations, police brutality & “Black Lives Matter”, the loss of those closest and also address the current state of hip hop today

The latest review to be published is written by Wayne Allen for the US online Swurv Radio, and includes the line “‘Anti-Trap Music’ is an exceptional album that conjures up memories that are one part Little Brother and one part Gangstarr.” and can be read in full HERE

One for west coast rap & hip hop fans to mark in their diary.

Slaughterhouse’s KXNG Crooked will be tearing it down with his younger brothers Horseshoe Gang at Los Globos (Indie Club) on Friday February 26th. The address is 3040 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026.

Doors open at 8pm with the show starting at 8.30pm which will also include performances by Smart Asses, The Black Kinideez, Omega Nova and Bullet. This is an 18 and over event, admission is $15 and tickets can be bought HERE

Brick City’s 050 Boyz are renowned for their energetic live performances, witnessed this year at various summer festivals and most recently at Brooklyn’s Black Bear Bar earlier this month.

The trio of Riq da Kid, Prince AK and Tru Trilla released their debut group album “Everything 050” in August, and received worldwide media coverage reflecting their dope lyricism over Clinton Place’s bangin beats. New Jersey’s 050 Boyz are renowned for their energetic high octane live stage shows, and will be performing at the Black Bear Bar in Brooklyn on Monday 2nd November as part of a quality line up arranged by The Writters Block Concert Series.

A very rare opportunity to witness jazz drummer and hip hop producer Karriem Riggins perform in London in what is his first ever solo show in London.

With production credits for work with a whole range of well known hip hop artists including Talib Kweli, Slum Village, The Roots, Common and J Dilla under his belt, the jazz drummer has also performed with Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson and Donald Byrd to mention but a few.

He has also turned his hand to a bit of turntablism, and brings his DJ set to England for the show he calls Blend, so called as he mashes together his favourite jazz, soul, funk and hip hop sounds for a unique experience. It’ll get lively…..!!!!

Joining him will be the UK’s First Lady of Hip Hop, ex MTV and BBC 1Xtra presenter DJ Sarah Love. A major player in UK hip hop’s progression since her days at London’s renowned Deal Real and Kung Fu sessions, she now regularly tours overseas to Europe and Australia.

You can catch Karriem, Sarah and Ben Grymm performing on Thursday 17th September at Trapeze Basement (formerly East Village), 89 Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch, EC2A 3HX. The venue is a 5 minute walk east of Old Street Tube Station.

The event runs a full 24 hours from 6pm Friday to 6pm Saturday, and will also see performances by Rakim, DJ Marley Marl, DAS EFX, DJ Evil Dee, Smif n Wessun and many more. If you’re in the area, it’s not to be missed

It’s that time of year again when the world’s press & media descend upon Austin Texas for the annual SXSW Festival

The music festival runs from Tuesday 17th March – Sunday 22nd March, and for the third consecutive year, newly re-crowned “Cincinnati Hip Hop Artist of the Year” Buggs tha Rocka will be performing. Having released his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” in December 2014 which received widespread international press coverage, he penned a new two album deal in January this year with Talib Kweli’s Javotti Organization as part of a new recording duo “Space Invadaz” which sees Buggs team up with Donte from the group MOOD.

Buggs will be performing at the Special Delivery event on Wednesday 18th March at The Roosevelt Room, 307 W 5th Street Austin, and is scheduled to appear on stage around 8.45pm. The event is headlined by Freddie Gibbs and hosted by B Dot of Rap Radar.

Whether performing on multiple occasions at SXSW and A3C in Atlanta, or at clubs around the country, Buggs’ shows are always full of energy as you can see from this clip of him performing with Talib Kweli in 2013
