New AA side single released today through New Dawn Records,  the third to be taken from London producer Ramson Badbonez’ new album “Lead by Example” out on August 27th.

“Black Hole Cypher” is an outstanding posse cut featuring a “Who’s Who” of the UK scene.  Relentless business from King Kashmere, Truemendous, MysDiggi, Micall Parknsun, Joker Starr, Gee Bag, Confucius, Jehst, Phoenix da Icefire and Ramson himself all piling in with fierce bars over a high octane beat.

Switching gears, “Rap to the Future” resonates to a classic west coast beat as Dizzy Dustin (Ugly Duckling / Blown Celeb), Cali’s Mr Hooper and Canada’s Moka Only evoke the sights and sounds of hip hop back in the day, with exquisite cuts provided by last year’s IDA scratch champion Kompoze.

Available to stream & download at Apple, Tidal, Amazon, Spotify & Bandcamp

London rapper Phoenix da Icefire & producer Husky Brown drop their incredible new album “Panacea” on May 5th

The themes covered by The Triple Darkness member address the environment, mental health, knife crime, racism, well being and aspiration.  The narrative is delivered with the highest caliber of lyricism and figurative wordplay over a soundtrack provided by Husky which skillfully blends a fresh fusion of hip hop, soul, r&b, electronica, dub and bass.

The second single from the album “Dark Rainbow Light” b/w “Sins of Gaia” released through New Dawn Records today.  Husky laces “Dark Rainbow Light” with some soulful traditional hip hop flavours as Phoenix reflects on the challenges of inner city life while searching a better path, with the lo fi beats of Sins of Gaia paints the backdrop for an attack on institutional racism with the remix provided by Kashmere (YNR Productions, Tru Thoughts, High Focus).

Released today through New Dawn Records, digitally distributed by Ingrooves / Universal and available to stream and download at APPLE, TIDAL & AMAZON Also on Spotify & Soundcloud

RPL-PopCulturez

With the release of the debut solo album by London’s hip hop producer & rapper Apex Zero, “Reality Provoking Liberation”, an example of the impressive diversity of media interest is displayed in two reviews over the past 24 hours

Online magazine PopCulturez is a multi genre publication covering news, reviews, features by rock, country, pop and hip hop artists. Their review includes the opening salvo “From the outset, it is clear that Apex Zero is taking his music to an uncompromising place, with political rhymes coming at an unrelenting pace.“, the article then continuing to note “while many rappers are caught up in the streets or tales of club-hopping, this young MC looks further due to his studies of socialist philosophy, politics, and African history….and has also taken inspiration from a number of other British MCs, with strong hints of names like Terra Firma, Lowkey, and Kashmere seeping through his styles.

Summarizing “Apex Zero comes off like Britain’s answer to Killah Priest to show that real, hardcore hip-hop with a political mindset still exists in 2013” you can read the entire review HERE

RPL-UndergroundHH

Meanwhile, UndergroundHH, a website dedicated to UK hip hop and championing both new and more established independent artists on the scene featured the album, again drawing comparisons to British & international artists such as Immortal Technique, Wu Tang, Dead Prez, Skinnyman and Klashnekoff, and comments “Apex delivers stone cold pen game fighting back at the system, the roots of population control and the endless routine of a 9 to 5.” and then featuring his videos for Power Source, Chaotic Revolt and Our Times.
