TimingIsEverything-DeadEndHipHop

4 days to go until the release of the debut album by Detroit’s MC Kid Vishis on Tuesday 22nd July 2014.

Produced by Mr Porter (Shady / D12), Chase Moore (Hippie Sabotage), New Jersey’s Nemisis and Canada’s Nick Zervos, “Timing is Everything” will be available worldwide on digital & physical CD formats, and autographed copies can be ordered from the label Seven 13 Entertainment now at www.seven13ent.com

It is also available for pre order now on iTunes & Amazon

Latest review comes from online publication Dead End Hip Hop based in the USA.

Writer Samuel Odunsi Jr puts the album in the context of the Detroit scene and the emergence of this artist over the years from releasing mixtapes as part of the “Sick Em” series, working with his elder brother Royce da 5’9″ and now stepping out in his own right with his first official studio album.

Unsurprisingly, props are given to Kid Vishis’ mic skills, concise rapier-like delivery and range of subject matter, notably in this case on the track Beautiful Day “anytime an MC takes the time out to drop some positive knowledge should be an A grade in everyone’s book.“. TimingIsEverything-Rawroots

The long awaited debut album “Timing is Everything” by Detroit’s Kid Vishis (younger brother of Royce da 5 9) releases 22nd July on Seven 13 Entertainment.

One of Michigan’s most highly rated emerging rappers is no novice, having toured throughout the United States, Europe & the UK, produced a series of “Sick ‘EM” mixtapes since 2007 and featured on several of his brother’s albums and also worked with Crooked I’s fam Horse Shoe Gang.

He draws his influences from legendary lyricists down the years, and as debuts go, it’s a bold move that throughout the album he showcases his own mic skills with only one feature appearing on the track “Coward” – appropriately enough from his older brother

Production is courtesy of Shady’s Mr Porter, Chase Moore (Hippie Sabotage), Nemisis and Canada’s Nick Zervos

Unsurprisingly there’s been much international media interest in the release, and British online Rawroots have just featured the release HERE

Expect to see a lot of coverage on the album over the summer which can be pre-ordered at www.seven13ent.com

You can keep up to date with him on twitter @KidVishis and meantime check out the single “Heaven” released late in 2013 which is produced by Nemesis.

flyer

Hopefully 2014 will be as good as 2013 for touring hip hop artists to the UK and Europe, and this line up announced for early next year certainly indicates a promising start.

Redphone Records, Seven 13 Entertainment & Deep Concerts Media have come together to present a new tour featuring Queensbridge vets Nature & Blaq Poet, Detroit’s next name to watch out for (& younger brother of Royce da 5 9) Kid Vishis, and current Hawaii resident by way of Long Beach southern California Matt Maddox.

As the tour name suggests, Matt Maddox celebrates the release of his new album “Righteous Fury” in good company, as Blaq Poet gets ready to release his new album Blaq Death, & Vishis prepares to launch a new mixtape shortly ahead of a new official album due in 2014. Next year should also mark the long awaited new studio album from Nature

MagnaCarta-OldToTheNew

Proving that it is possible to deliver street-influenced, hardcore Hip-Hop without having to appeal to the lowest common denominator, with “Magna Carta” M9 has succeeded in his mission to elevate, stimulate and edutain, delivering one of 2012′s most essential albums in the process.” is how Ryan Proctor summarizes the new album from London’s Melanin 9 for his online blog Old To The New

Ryan has been writing about hip hop for several magazines over the years, contributing reviews, interviews and news, and has established a real tastemaker online platform with his blog, covering some of the best traditional hip hop international releases, videos, singles, albums and events

If in any doubt about his standpoint on hip hop & rap music today, his opening line about Melanin 9’s album and his overall view are combined with :

Although there may be many artists today prepared to sell their soul and dumb down their content in an attempt to appeal to the masses and achieve their fifteen minutes of fame, there are still real emcees out there who aren’t willing to take the easy route, choosing instead to put hours of effort into mastering their craft, keeping their lyrical swords sharp as they walk in the footsteps of the greats that came before them. London-based lyricist Melanin 9 a.k.a. M9 is one such artist.

A full in depth review follows HERE

The strength of the classic Tru Skool sound influenced by the Golden Era of the 1990’s is reflected by the international element of his album sales on iTunes throughout Europe and in the States, as well of course as in the UK. This would indicate that the genre is in good health, and still passes the test of time when others come & go.

You can buy the album on iTunes digital store HERE or if you prefer purchasing the CD format by mail order, or the limited edition 12″ vinyl of the single “White Russian” featuring Roc Marciano, go to http://m9ether.bandcamp.com
