Buggs-WordplayMag

The UK’s Wordplay Magazine covers the full spectrum of hip hop culture, fashion, graffiti, music, breakin and much more. They produce a quarterly physical print version distributed around stores and of course have a regular online platform.

They have today featured the new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” by award winning Cincinnati MC Buggs tha Rocka, providing a full review written by Sam Bennett combined with the exclusive full album audio stream

The review which summarizes “Buggs Tha Rocka has delivered a quality offering here, with dope rhymes, dope beats and a unique approach. After listening through to the 19 tracks on display here, it’s no wonder a shock that legends like Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek are throwing their weight behind the Cincinnati MC, and his knack for spitting well structured bars over a selection of pretty chilled instrumentals will definitely stand him in good stead…One thing is for sure though; this kid can definitely rap.” can be read in full HERE

The album includes production by !llmind, Jake One, Hop Trax, Sal Dali & Kill Will, and features Chuck Inglish, Tanya Morgan, MOOD, Piakhan, Phoenix Aphrodite & Aida Chakra. It will be available as a free download on Wednesday 10th December from www.buggstharocka.com and also via the My Mixtapez App available for all mobile devices. TimingIsEverything-SagittariusHH

It’s now nearly 2 weeks since Detroit MC Kid Vishis released his debut album “Timing is Everything” on Seven 13 Entertainment.

The younger brother of Royce da 5’9″ has enjoyed widespread international media coverage over the past couple of months, most recently by France’s online Sagittarius HH who have just published a new review which can be read HERE

Written in French, the review reflects on the fact that other than his brother on the final track “Coward”, there are no other featured artists, however “It represents his pedigree with an impressive lyrical density to the point that he has no need for guest appearances.” and presenting the explanation that as this is his debut, and clearly a deliberate approach this time around, it may be “because we feel that Timing is Everything is a very personal work.”

The review also reflects the fact that the album is not necessarily what is expected, with only one Detroit producer, Mr Porter, providing beats along with California based Chase Moore, Canada’s Nick Zervos and New Jersey’s Nemisis, all of whom are providing a diversity of sound, even touching upon dubstep in the track “In Yo Face”, but never wavering from the core principles of lyricism & rhyme skills expected from a rapper influenced by the best from the Golden Age of hip hop.

Available internationally on Itunes & Amazon in digital format, CD’s of the album can also be bought directly from the label at www.seven13ent.com Check out the official audio stream on Soundcloud

Look out for further press coverage coming from the UK, Europe & USA in the next couple of weeks, including a special video feature in France’s Hip Hop 4 Life in the next few days. Currently in the middle of further media promotional activity as well as putting together tour dates for the UK, Europe & Canada, you can follow him on twitter @KidVishis.

TimingIsEverything-Sampleface

British online publication Sampleface are the latest to run the rule over the debut album by Detroit MC Kid Vishis “Timing is Everything” which released this week on Seven 13 Entertainment.

Opening with “There’s something to be said for a rapper who can generate a buzz as loud as a hornet’s nest without blessing the world with a full album. Kid Vishis is one such emcee and we reviewed his debut album, Timing Is Everything.” they reflect on the versatility of the mic skills, lyricism and fierce flows complimented by the production provided by Mr Porter, Nemisis, Chase Moore & Nick Zervos.

In the comment “Vishis is one of the few Golden Era lovers not trapped in recreating the sound of the forefathers, but instead taking the principles and bringing them up to date” they represent a great deal of the artist’s ethos and mindset in what is a well written piece.
