New exclusive here for the djs – official brand new radio edit of Crooked I’s single “Villain” originally released on his Million Dollar Story EP.

The Circle of Bosses affiliate, which includes Horseshoe G.A.N.G. and of course Shady’s Slaughterhouse took the hook from Gracie Productions’ singer / songwriter Sally Anthony from the track of the same name which first appeared on her album Goodbye in 2007. The album peaked at #9 in Billboard’s Heatseekers’ Chart & the video of the original was released in December 2012.

She has also previously worked with Crook on the track It’s Been So Long, and with Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden on Machine Gun.

Latest in what has been a long line of UK and international media coverage secured by UrbanElite PR for London’s Melanin 9 and his debut album “Magna Carta” which released on 3rd December 2012.

This time Sean Cloherty gives it his full seal of approval on behalf of British multi genre online magazine Hit The Floor.

“Don’t mistake M9 for another rapper who ignorantly spits about drugs and guns either, the talent he has with words is extremely impressive. He paints a picture in the mind’s eye; there is a lot of wordplay revolving around meaningful subjects” again follows in the same vein of many previous journalists’ analysis of what has been a landmark release for the artist, his first official album since releasing mixtapes 144,000, High Fidelity and the Orion’s Stencil EP.

Similarly, comparisons in lyrical approach to Nas, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang & Biggie have been a common theme in many of the reviews and interviews, and this one is no different, summarizing :

“Magna Carta is embedded with hyper-visual lyricism, dark soundscapes, gritty narratives, and hard beats, and really gives the impression that Melanin 9 is out to spread knowledge.”

Los Angeles hip hop emcee hit 2013 running with the release of his new album “Great Expectations” which is available for free download for a limited period from his Bandcamp http://malkovichmusic.bandcamp.com

The album follows his mixtape Ayatollah Presley which was hosted by Detroit’s producer House Shows, and includes production from Clan Destined’s Yamin, Computer Jay, Josh the Goon and also includes a feature by Gotham Green on the banger Get Away.

Nominated for MTV’s “Brand New Unsigned for 2013” recently, London’s Skripture launches his debut self produced single for No Help No Handouts Records.

“Bark (Back It Up)” is also the first release from this brand new British label set up to showcase some of the most creative and pioneering artists from around the world.

A founding member of The Truth MoveMENT and trans-Atlantic urban rock group The Score, Skripture has produced for Bashy, IAM1 and Saukrates, and developed his own solo career as an emcee and musician in recent times with the launch of his Skripture Sunday’s Mixtape in 2011. Drawing on influences as diverse as The Beatles, J Dilla, Wiley and Phonte, he’s busy in the studio recording new material for 2013.

The first single also comes with a remix by London grime producer Levlz who has worked with Chipmunk and Riko Dan of Roll Deep, and has already been taking up some impressive UK radio airtime. Releasing on 9th December, also look out for an accompanying video being launched in the next few weeks.

The new album from Ohio’s Copywrite “God Save The King (Proper English Version)” has been released on Man Bites Dog Records.

With stellar production from Marco Polo, Bronze Nazareth, Stu Bangas, Curtiss King, Jaguar Skills & Kount Fif, Megahertz founder member Copywrite is on top form throughout.

There’s been huge international public & media interest in the release over the past few months, not least due to the quality of artists also featured from both sides of the Atlantic. This has seen MC’s the calibre of Akala & Sonny Seeza, S.A.S. & Sean Price, Genesis Elijah & Royce da 5 9, Iron Braydz & Crooked I, Bigz Flygerian & Inspectah Deck, Melanin 9 & Killah Priest and many more stand shoulder to shoulder on various tracks with further contributions from the likes of Evidence, Mystro, Roc Marciano and Torae.

The final official video taken from the album is the Jason Rose produced “Ghost in the Machine” which features London’s Context, currently riding high on the back of winning MTV’s “Brand New Unsigned” artist competition and playlisting on BBC Radio 1

Shot in Columbus Ohio and Hammersmith London, its a fitting finale to celebrate the launch of an exceptional album. Directed by John Hendrickse of Dirty Media London in the UK and Sean Grevencamp in the United States. Directors of Photography were Spaceship “Despa” Robinson (Despa Stay Fresh) in the Uk and Sean Grevencamp in the United States. Copywrite is working on a new Megahertz album and putting together plans to tour Europe in early 2013

THE LOCK IN BLOG

We have just launched a new blog on Tumblr, “The Lock In”

As a company, Urbanelite Promotions have several online platforms on Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, various blogs etc to help promote our international client base

We decided to launch a less formal platform on tumblr to highlight anything that entertained or interested us. This could be news, videos, tracks, sport, music industry “advice”, anything of any nature that we just felt like posting.

This will also be a platform for artists & labels, most likely involved in hiphop, rap, r&b, soul or any other form of “urban” music who we may not be directly involved with, but we like, to have their videos or tracks uploaded. Any artists interested in having their material or details of events added should check the site first, all the contact details are there.

As a taster, we have uploaded some examples, including a rare interview with Souls of Mischief & Sarah Love & “tour stories” from their time in the UK supporting the release of the album Montezuma’s Revenge, when we took D12 to meet Tim Westwood & news of their tour last year & dates in the Uk this year, and some other videos of Stateside & UK artists such as Copywrite, Vast Aire, Supar Novar, Depprooted & we’ll be adding more soon. We also uploaded a couple examples of our 8Tracks mixes featuring international hiphop artists we’ve been in touch with over the years.
