JAMIESON : NEW VIDEO & SINGLE “Last Time I Saw You”
London’s Jamieson drops yet another freestyle and video, in what’s been one of the most prolific periods for output from this MC who in his own words is on his own “foreign exchange”, now on the hard grind in New York City.
He lets loose on this one “Last Time I Saw You” over a jumpin hip hop beat, and its always good to hear someone with the flow skills go in with the shackles removed.
He released the first track “I Told You So” from his new EP “I Came I Saw Volume 3” last week, with a lot more to follow in the next couple of months. He has been in the studio with various other artists recently, among them London’s super producer Beat Butcha, so it looks like being a busy 2012.

Currently releasing a series of freestyle videos and exclusive new tracks, this comes ahead of the launch of the final instalment in the EP Trilogy “I Came I Saw”. Part 1 documents his work within a New York label, which also features Steve Rifkind, Yelawolf and he freestyles for Wu Tang’s RZA
Part 2 again shows him behind the scenes working in the label, and he speaks on the balance between his job there and furthering his career as an independent artist
Part 3 shows us a typical day in his life, how he manages his time between his “day job” and stayin on the grind, with some exclusive footage of him performing at Think Pink Rocks in 2010 and behind the scenes footage of his video shoot for “I Get Busy”
He has just launched the first new single from the EP “I Came I Saw Vol 3”. Featuring NYC’s singer Shareen Amour, “I Told You So” is a statement of intent from Jamieson that his grind on both sides of the Atlantic will continue to make 2012 his best year yet.

The Stateside version drops on 28th February on Man Bites Dog Records, while the UK version, featuring many hip hop heavyweights from the British scene is released on 30th April.

London’s Jamieson, formerly known as Killagram, has been making some big moves since his relocation to the States some years back.
Starting off as a young producer in Kilburn, he formed the duo “Twisted Thoughts” with longtime sparring partner K.I.N.E.T.I.K. Having been on the grind in the UK’s underground for a number of years, an offer of work in New York saw him up sticks and make New York’s South Bronx his current home
He wasn’t slow in getting his game on over there. In 2007 he released The Foreign Exchange mixtape hosted by DJ Whoo Kid before putting together plans for his “I Came I Saw” trilogy series of mixtapes
2010 saw the release of Volume 1, launched via DJBooth.net with features from Skyzoo and Emilio Rojas. This was followed up in 2011 by Volume 2 with further features from Sean Price, Samuel and Joell Ortiz.
He’s not been slack on the live front – performing 2 years running at Think Pink Rocks, opening for Melanie Fiona, Sean Kingston & Akon, and in 2011 opening for Mobb Deep at SOB’s for Hot 97’s “Who’s Next” series.
With public endorsements from artists such as RZA, Yelawolf & B-Real, and key media such as XXL, ThisIs50, Hiphopdx, The Hip Hop Chronicle and 2Dopeboyz, he returned to London recently to film the new video for “London (freestyle). This is a taster from the final instalment of the “I Came I Saw” mixtape trilogy which will be released in the coming months.
The mixtape will be released in advance of his new single “I Get Busy” which is set to kick start a big year for Jamieson on both sides of the Atlantic.
During her support tour in the UK with Aloe Blacc and Maya Jupiter in December, London’s DJ Sarah Love dropped in on some old fam in Nottingham, and was interviewed for online tv Press Play Entertainment as part of their “Introduce Yourself” series.
Also present was UK MC Scorzayzee, and she spoke of her past with Kung Fu, BBC 1Xtra, MTV, Beatminerz Radio, supporting acts such as Wu Tang, KRS-1 & her background in music which includes starting off as a drummer…though she passed on the oppo to give us a quick Buddy Rich !
Currently on tour in Australia until the end of January, she will be at Oxford Art Factory, Sydney on the 12th, supporting Immortal Technique at the Metro Theatre Sydney on the 19th and at the city’s Red Room on the 21st.
A regular on the international hip hop circuit, look out for a few more UK dates in the early Spring being announced soon.

Smokin Joe Frazier was born in 1944 and became Olympic boxing champion in 1964.
With the World Boxing title left vacant due to Muhammad Ali’s ban, caused by his refusal to be drafted during the USA’s war in Vietnam (later overturned due to public pressure), Joe Frazier fought Jimmy Ellis on February 16th 1970 in Madison Square Garden to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
The subsequent lifting of the ban on Ali saw the pair fight at Madison Square Garden on March 8th 1971, though this was felt to be too soon a return to top flight boxing for Ali who was floored on a couple of occasions by Frazier, with Joe winning a unanimous points decision. This was billed as the Fight of the Century.
Frazier lost his title to the giant George Foreman in Kingston, Jamaica on January 22nd, 1973. Although nearly 2 years after the Ali fight, a generous Foreman later claimed that the fight with Ali had taken a lot out of Joe, and he caught him on a slight downward spiral, and at his prime he could never have beaten him. Foreman had Frazier on the canvas several times throughout the bout to win the title, only to lose it to a resurgent Ali during the famous Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire.
On January 28th 1974, Frazier faced Ali a second time in New York City losing on points in what was generally regarded as an anti climax
It was the second in what became known as a famous treble of boxing matches between the pair, the last being the infamous Thrilla in Manila on 1st October 1975.
Deemed by many to be the most brutal heavyweight fight ever, Frazier was stopped by his trainer in the 14th, although Ali himself described the fight as “the closest thing to dying I know of”
This period of time was known as the Golden Era of Boxing due to the calibre of fighters, understood to be far higher than today. The public image of the rivalry between Ali and Frazier was one of bitter resentment due to Ali’s taunting of Frazier as an “Uncle Tom” due to his own involvement in various Black Movements and Nation of Islam, where Frazier’s team (not that different to Ali’s) was mainly white and he had no strong leanings towards any particular movement.
While there is little doubt Frazier was enraged about the taunt, and reportedly never forgave Ali despite an apology years later, the private relationship was in fact a lot closer, and Ali was building up the rivalry to sell tickets. During his ban, Frazier gave money to Ali to see him through, and after defeating Frazier in one fight, noticing Joe’s son Marvis crying in the corner at a press conference, Ali ignored the press, approached the boy and told him “Dont cry, your father is a great man”
Despite a brief return, Joe Frazier retired from boxing in 1976 and set up a boxing gym in Philadelphia. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. His daughter Jacqui began a boxing career in 2000, following in the footsteps of her father and brother. On June 8th 2001 she fought in the first ever Pay Per View Boxing card in women’s boxing when she fought Laila Ali, daughter of Muhammad.
Jacqui lost in the 8th round but went on to be WIBA champion on December 14th 2001.
Joe maintained his gym in Philadelphia and pursued many activities, assisting boxing gyms around the world and encouraging young boxers
Described as the “bravest boxer he had ever witnessed” by George Foreman, Joe Frazier died on 7th November 2011 from liver cancer, and in the words of Muhammad Ali, “We have lost a great champion”.

New York’s Double A.B. spent some time living in north London’s Tottenham.
As the news of the much publicized London riots of August 2011 spread globally, Double A.B. wrote the track London Calling reflecting on what he could see happening in his old neighbourhood. He got together with his old associate & fellow New Yorker Dub Sonata who produced the Clash sampled beat and then approached the UK’s highly rated MC Iron Braydz to feature.
Braydz goes in hard on the track as expected with plaudits for his “Devil May Cry” album last year still reverberating around UK hiphop
Double A.B. and Dub Sonata are currently working on a new album while Iron Braydz has new projects lined up for 2012 with some heavy hittin international names on board
