New Jersey’s Tru Trilla releases his new album “God of Barz” through New Dawn Records on May 29th, the follow up to his EP “The Seymour Chronicles” which dropped on March 17th.

Production on the new album is courtesy of Newark native (now resident in LA) Clinton Place aka Jamal Nueve, Chicago’s DNA Beatz, Barcelona’s Sumerio Square and the UK’s Chat One. Fellow 050 Boyz group member Prince Ak is included in the Brick City contingent of featured artists together with Fly Kwa, Middy Murdock and Confucious.  This one’s for the heads, raw and uncompromising, the energy is intense as Tru tackles political tensions, corruption, equal opportunities and the current state of hip hop delivered in a series of fierce and passionate rhymes over a raucous soundtrack that will give the neck muscles a serious work out.

New Dawn Records have today announced the release date of the new album “God of Barz” by New Jersey rapper Tru Trilla as May 29th 2020.

The follow up to the recently released “Seymour Chronicles EP” which is available from all major online streaming platforms and digital stores, distribution is again by Ingrooves / Universal.

Brick City rapper Tru Trilla has released his new EP “The Seymour Chronicles” today through New Dawn Records.

Relaunched last year after a 15 year hiatus, hip hop label New Dawn Records have confirmed today that they will be releasing a new EP and album by New Jersey’s lyrical marksman Tru Trilla over the next few months.

In an official statement published this morning, the label commented

“We relish the prospect of working with an artist of Tru’s caliber and style which represents perfectly our direction of travel as we enter an exciting new phase since re-launching last year.”

We at UrbanElite PR have of course worked with Tru Trilla previously in 2015, then as a member of the 050 Boyz group as they released the classic album “Everything 050”

The worldwide media coverage and radio airplay reflected the appreciation and quality of the rhymes skills, lyricism and dope production, and ultimately led to both DJ Eclipse & DJ Premier inviting them as guests on their Sirius XM shows.

Tru’s new releases feature his 050 Boyz sparring partners Prince Ak and RIQ, and also include many of his long term Brick City affiliates on vocal and production duties, beginning with the new EP “The Seymour Chronicles” which releases on March 17th, the precursor to “God of Barz” which drops May 29th

Produced entirely by another New Jersey native Joey Loax, the EP represents the classic east coast sound while Tru, Prince Ak, RIQ and Fly Kwa all deliver their trademark fierce rhymes, hooks, hard bars and lyricism. US journalist Samuel Odunsi Jr, ex contributor to Dead End Hip Hop among others, has returned from a short hiatus last year to launch his own new online platform which focuses on new music and movie releases.

Among his initial new content is a new review of the album “Everything 050” released in August lat year by New Jersey hip hop trio 050 Boyz. This was the group’s debut official album although individually Riq da Kid, Tru Trilla and Prince AK have released various solo projects and continue to do so.

With less than a week until the release of their debut album “Everything 050” on 4th August, and having just stepped off stage at the Lincoln Park Music Festival at the weekend where they absolutely tore it down, Riq da Kid, Tru Trilla and Prince AK – aka 050 Boyz – took time out to chop it up with US online REUP Spot.

They spoke about their performance at the festival, their years in the game and the camaraderie which exists among them. They then to move on to discuss the recording process of the new album and how they feel their sound and approach is in sync with and represents New Jersey, as they further explain the involvement of so many other local featured artists from the Garden State on the album.

Taking their name from the local area code, and given their previous involvement with Treach’s Garden State Greats of 2004, current involvement in local youth programmes and determination to shine a light on others from the scene, their committment to their home State is clear. As it is to progressing the sound of hip hop they grew up with and began performing when it was at its prime.

Couple weeks back, The Beeshine made the short trip over from Jersey City to Newark to hook up with Riq da Kid, Tru Trilla and Prince AK, aka 050 Boyz.

As part of their “What Inspires…” series, the online tv channel spoke with the hip hop group about their early inspirations and what inspires them now, their own history, and their new album “Everything 050” which releases on 4th August

In this video, the group talk about early influences and inspirations with a particular acknowledgement of the role played by the success of local artists such as Naughty by Nature and Lords of the Underground (who they’d go on to work with), Redman, Queen Latifah and how they in turn now look to provide an example to others.

They discuss how watching live performances by Slick Rick & Doug E Fresh and hearing the music of MC Shan, Sugarhill Gang, Teddy Prendergast, Smokey Robinson, in their earlier years also acted as a major motivation

The mindset of inspiring and promoting new generations from the Garden State and shining a light on other local independent artists can be traced back to their involvement in Treach’s Garden State Greats Movement of 2004, and represented now by the inclusion of many as featured guests on the album.

They also look back on their own progression through the years from producing mixtapes, releasing videos and grindin on the streets to now reaching out globally and developing their own entertainment company which again they hope will benefit those on the come up in future. The appreciation of family and community support is clear as is their intention to reciprocate.

The group explain the dynamic of working as three MC’s with distinct styles, and how the creative process and interaction with the crowd at shows is both a cathartic and powerful experience. Prince AK then speaks about his role as hype man for Treach’s Naughty Nation and touring with them in China, before the interview concludes by addressing the album itself
