It was also put together in part to help launch the label’s new video playlist, “Welcome to the Realness” which consists of singles they’ve released by artists from the US & UK, reppin’ the best of beatmaking, turntablism and rhyme skillz.

Recipient of the title “Best Rapper” at the Ithaca Music Awards in 2019, Anthony Kannon has enjoyed a rapid rise in recognition as one of the most highly rated talents to emerge from NY State in recent years.
His new album “Cautionary Tales” releases on October 20th a collaborative project with veteran producer Frost Gamble, originally from nearby Binghamton and now resident in Canada.
Local media outlets were quick to pick up on the story of his signing with New Dawn Records for the release including a feature in The Ithaca Voice newspaper, a report aired live on tv news station WENY and an interview broadcast on local commercial radio station Z95.5 FM.
The first single from the album “Pitfalls” released today and addresses his own personal growth. An evolution from the hustles of his younger days to more progressive paths while struggling to escape past legacies, the funk fuelled beat lending itself to the air of optimism for the future. As with the entire album, this is the classic art of real life storytelling set to the perfect soundtrack.

Word’s spreading in update New York. On the back of his recent feature in The Ithaca Voice, local tv station WENY sat down with rapper Anthony Kannon to discuss his musical background, his reinvigorated focus on hip hop having been the victim of a shooting during a family home break in, working with producer Frost Gamble on the new album “Cautionary Tales” and signing with label New Dawn Records for the release.

Postponed due to the pandemic, the rescheduled launch event takes place at Brixton Jamm on Friday November 12th as a joint headline with fellow London rapper and producer Ramson Badbonez who will be showcasing tracks from his recently released album “Lead by Example”, both out on New Dawn Records.

London rapper Phoenix da Icefire and producer Husky Brown released their phenomenal new album “Panacea” on Tuesday May 5th through New Dawn Records.

New single released today by Newark’s Tru Trilla, “20 to Life” features fellow 050 Boyz member Prince Ak who also has a new joint “Have Nots” currently doing the rounds featuring Ice-T.
Produced by another New Jersey native Joey Loax, the pair take it in turn to aim their sights and pull the verbal trigger on wack rappers with more dresses in their locker than rhymes.
