East coast duo, M.I. and DJ Cutt – aka Constant Deviants – released their new album “Omerta” today.

It’s the pair’s fifth album since their debut “Concrete Utopia” and follows just a year after the critically acclaimed “Avant Garde”.

Their contributor Taytula Burke jumped on the phone recently with the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards’ “Hip Hop Artist of 2014” to discuss his new album “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” which releases on 10th December, and includes production by !llmind, Jake One, Hop Trax, Sal Dali and Kill Will, and features Tanya Morgan, Chuck Inglish, Phoenix Aphrodite, MOOD, Piakhan and Aida Chakra.

The pair also discussed his earliest influences and emergence from his days starting out as an artist to performing at events such as this year’s A3C Festival in Atlanta, his love of Japanese culture and animation, and he speaks on meaningful content and lyricism in hip hop today, and what inspires him to write

Having released previous mixtapes with Mac Miller’s tour dj, DJ Clockwork, “Scattered Thoughts of an American Poet” is Buggs first official album release for a number of years, but is the pre-cursor for a planned series of releases in 2015. In the past couple of months, the artist & album has generated widespread international media interest, the results of which you will see over the coming weeks and into the new year. Having already endorsed his new album “Timing is Everything” in an earlier review, the UK’s online magazine The Music Spot sat down with Detroit MC Kid Vishis to get a better understanding of the man behind the music.

They discussed the origins of his stage name, how he first started recording and which hip hop artists had the most profound influence in the way he developed his own style. Kid Vishis then explains the turning point in his career which ultimately led him to record the debut album, and outlines the writing process and the concepts behind the tracks.

The interview then ends with a focus on the future, both in terms of the immediate year ahead with international tours and further releases, and his aims longer term.

North London Emcee and producer kick starts a busy 12 months with the release of his new EP “Verbal sWARdz” on Monday 14th April.

With further releases in the pipeline, whether solo or as a member of Triple Darkness and FuFu Gang, and an acting role in a new independent film “Night Bus” shot by award winning director Simon Baker due out later in the year, the highly regarded lyricist and beatmaker has laid down a strong marker with the new record.

The west coast rapper, now resident in Kansas in America’s MidWest has picked up a wide spread of international media coverage on this release, and this continues with the latest review appearing in London’s Guestlist Network who had interviewed him only last month
