Iron Braydz releases his Verbal sWARdz EP on 14th April, and has just launched this new video for the self produced track “Dredd”

The EP, the first of a series of releases planned by the North London MC over the next year, includes features by several of his fellow Triple Darkness members in addition to Kyza, Skriblah, Organized Konfusion’s Prince Po and Sean Price

Also look out for Braydz appearing in a new independent film “Night Bus” later in the year, directed by Simon Baker who picked up several awards for his “Paralympic” series for Channel 4.

Having released his debut solo album “Reality Provoking Liberation” on 28th October, London rapper & producer Apex Zero took time out recently from preparing for his forthcoming launch party to speak with Sam Bass from Under City Lights (UCL) Magazine

Here he speaks on the process of putting the album together and the social & political content covered in his lyrics, his future plans as part of the hip hop duo First and Last and the music scene within London generally

The album launch event takes place this Saturday, 7th December, upstairs at The Vibe Bar, 91 Brick Lane, Shoreditch, London E1 6QL. The night runs from 8pm – 1am, nearest tube station is Aldgate East (a 5 minute walk east of the venue), entry price is £5.00 on the door and photo ID is advised in line with most venues’ current policy.

Apex will be playing tracks from Reality Provoking Reality with a live band, and anyone familiar with his involvement in the group The Pantheonz of Zenn-La will know to expect a highly energetic show!

Also performing will be Caxton Press, Iron Braydz from Triple Darkness and spinnin ’em on the decks will be DJ A.Gee from the city’s re-established hip hop radio station Itch FM. Hosting the event will be Peaches.

It’s certain to be a big night of quality live music, one all real hip hop heads won’t want to miss

London’s Apex Zero prepares for his Reality Provoking Liberation album launch party with the release of this brand new joint straight out the lab, “Transcendental Emcee”.

The debut solo album was released to wide critical acclaim on 28th October, and this new track brings a lil’ different flava courtesy of Frank Freeman’s production, while Apex displays his trademark skilled wordplay and lyricism

The launch event takes place this Saturday, 7th December, upstairs at The Vibe Bar, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL. Apex will be showcasing tracks from the album with a live band, while there will also be performances from Caxton Press and Iron Braydz from Triple Darkness. On the 1’s & 2’s is Itch FM’s DJ A. Gee hosted by Peaches.

Having released his debut solo album “Reality Provoking Liberation” on 28th October, west London rapper & producer Apex Zero has been busy in rehearsals with his live band preparing for his album launch party on Saturday 7th December upstairs at The Vibe Bar in London’s Brick Lane.

The event runs from 8pm – 1am and he will also be joined by Caxton Press, Iron Braydz, Itch FM’s DJ A.Gee and host Peaches. At £5.00 on the door, it’s going to be real value for money to see some of the city’s top hip hop talent on display and should be a great “blow out” in the lead up to the Xmas holiday period. London’s DJ Elma has a “Kick This” series on Youtube where she’s interviewed artists such as The Pharcyde, Slum Village, Genesis Elijah, Dublin’s Workin Class Records and many more

In late August, she met up with west London hip hop artist Apex Zero in Brixton to speak on his music, new album Reality Provoking Liberation and his various political views which form much of the subject matter for the album

As a student of African history, African-American figures such as Malcolm X & Huey Newton and politics, not surprisingly in this interview he outlines his views on corruption, social cohesion, oppression, justice, war, peace, the political systems at home and overseas and much more. It was his introduction to legendary hip hop artists such as Immortal Technique, Nas, Dead Prez, Tupac & Wu Tang which motivated the young man to study more, and it has come full circle as he now portrays his views as an Emcee.

Whether you agree or disagree with his points of view, he articulates his thoughts well whether in the form of his rhymes or in the setting of an interview, something which has been commented upon by various members of the media to date
